I don’t get this. When I play music on my XS my watch automatically tells me what is playing. I can’t open a second version of the Music app. And why would anyone want to?

Watch OS 10.2 beta seems to have removed asking "End workout?" after you click end workout. It's about time. It was annoying have to confirm you want to end the workout after you click "x" on end workout.

I believe the people you were replying to were all referring to when you manually end a workout yourself, not when the watch detects you've finished a workout and asks you whether you'd like to end it.

There is now.

I noticed the same - and I love it. It is wonderful to get rid of the extra click.
Did they bring back the button for start new workout then? Because they removed that in 10.0/10.1

Do you mean the Start Workout Reminder? If so, there is a toggle to turn that on/off.

No, during a workout on the watch, if you swipe to the screen where you can end/pause/section a workout, there was previously a plus button, that would immediately bring you to the workout selection screen to start a new workout. On 10.0, they removed it, and there is just a blank space.

Ah, got it. I just started a workout and took this screenshot so it looks like it’s back.

HR tracking on 10.2 Beta 2 is completely broken, only about 30% of a workout has HR tracking, the rest is blank.

And they still haven't figured out how to make it convenient to play Music and hear the Workout notifications through AirPods at the same time. Maybe in 2025.

WatchOS 10 has been terrible so far - a pretty big crack in the love of my Ultra, that the battery over night lost 30-40% and not really because of any new cool features. My HR is also not amazing here in the early winter with sections where it looses it and then regains a massively high HR

It's really strange ...
It behaves completely differently for some people.
For most people, there is not noticeable battery drain. At home, with have 3 watches, AWU, AWU2, S7LTE and no battery problem.
My ultra 2 has 72h battery life without any problem.
HR tracking has always been more random in winter conditions.

For those that haven't seen it on the front page yet, swiping between watch faces is back as an option in beta 3. You can enable it on the watch in Settings -> Clock. It is not a setting in the Watch app on the iPhone, at least not yet. I have enabled the setting on my Ultra 2 and can confirm it does indeed work.

I wonder if the screen swipe gesture didn’t play well with the swipe up gesture, meaning unintentional results when doing one or the other. Guess we’ll see once enough people turn it back on

Why is it kind of sad?
That a big headline feature addition, is something that should never have been removed in the first place. New nice headline features should be build in navigation in the workout app while running an imported or drawn route from the iPhone. Or maybe just the ability to make the custom runs (intervals etc.) on your phone and push it to the watch - not just being able to create them on the watch

You know, nice new features

Topographical maps would be good too. Any time Apple, let's not wait for iOS 18/WatchOS 11.

That's the problem - they seem to have shifted to almost exclusively give the big features once a year and the .X updates have been very sub-par in new nice features for years
