It is! I have been using Apple Smart Folio since iPad Air 2. I dropped iPad Air 2 from some height few times during years and nothing ever happend.

Now I am using Smart Folio from iPad Pro 2020 for my brand new 2021 M1 and it is much more portable and lightweight than having Magic Keyboard.
If I buy Magic Keyboard the bulk would be so big that I can take instead iPad Pro Macbook Pro.
It still adds significant weight tho. Over 0.5lb.

Yes but you can not go with iPad Pro without any case so the Folio is a compromis in size and weight.

I didn't read the comments, but I do have a thread in this forum about the MagEZ vs CoverBuddy. I'm really loving my MagEZ. Once I pull it off the MK, I have the assurance of a thin case around the iPad.

I’ve had the Pitaka MagEZ case for my iPP/MKB 12.9 now for about 6 weeks and it seems like a great case. It works flawlessly with the MKB and provides just the right amount of protection I need otherwise. However, I mostly use my iPP with the MKB. Unlike the iPP 11 I find the 12.9 is a bit heavy for holding in my hand to use.

I picked up an Apple Smart Folio in Orange for mine. After years of space grey stuff and dark covers, its quite the change having a silver iPad, white keyboard and orange cover. I like it!

I agree. Personally, the 2018 12.9" had perfect weight distribution when used without a case. I would take it off the Magic Keyboard all the time and use it naked. But with the increased weight of the 2021 and the MagEZ, I find myself feeling the added heft (though it's still tolerable for me).

How do you like the MagEZ stand? I have the MagEZ Case 2 but because I have the MK, I didn't think it worthwhile purchasing the Stand. However, that seems like it provides an eye level view. This is probably just me trying to justify spending more haha

I like it a lot. It has magnetic connection and it’s really strong and yes it’s eye-level. It looks real clean on a desktop. And the base has wireless charging
