I’ve got the SE 2022 and love it! The OLED screens on other iPhones really bother me. The SE has a nice LCD screen and also fits into my pocket! Also, since the newer phones keep getting fatter, this is still the thinnest iPhone in the lineup.

and to add you not have to worry about screen burn in

I have a 14 pro and SE 2022, I love the 14p but I find myself tempted to go back to the SE quite often. Battery life & camera keep me on the 14p, but lord do I miss Touch ID and that swipe-up control center.

I have one. I barely use my phone, so don't want something expensive nor do I want something that will barely fit in a pocket, and I don't want Android... so SE 2022 it was.

The two big complaints I think are:
  • The small screen makes it hard to type, which is valid. If you message a lot or take a lot of notes it may be painful.
  • The battery life. As someone that barely uses the phone I get 3-4 day battery life. It does drop rather quickly when in use. If you have a lot of screen time, you may struggle to keep it charged.
Agree with both. I wish they would come out with a new one already with a little bigger screen and still Touch.

Bought one right at its launch and regretted it quickly. I traded in an XR for it. I kept it 8-9 months? The quickest I've ever traded in a phone by far. Works perfectly fine for what it is. That being said, you sacrifice everything for the sake of Touch-ID. Not worth it IMO. Battery life was pretty poor. Screen is tiny. It just feels like you are 6-8 years back in the smartphone world. It's fine for the most basic of users. If you are holding a phone for hours and hours a day, I'd hard-pass on it. Once you get ahold of a phone with a great battery and nice big screen, it's almost impossible to go back.

I have used apples smaller phones like 5S with all day battery...I would not update an iPhone SE
after purchase...no matter what anyone says. Its the only way to keep any phone free from orchestrated
decline.

I've been using a 2022 iPhone SE for almost one year. At $1.25 per month, it was an easy choice. It's small enough to fit my Steel Series Nimbus+ controlller and is powerful enough to play games. I've had a couple of Android phones but they're too big, and not powerful enough.

Purchased the SE2022 in Dec and very satisfied with it. My previous phone was the 6s so as is evident, I own my cellphones for a very long time. Might have considered the Mini to get the oled screen, but the notch is a no-no and the discontinuation of the Mini is another factor.

By the time my next cellphone purchase rolls around (in another 6+ years)...the notch will be hopefully be gone. But whether Apple will continue to produce an iphone <5.5" will be the big question. No interest in bigger phones!

While I have the 14 Pro, I have the 2022 SE as my work device. I do like the size and it’s still great to hold and use one handed as I don’t have huge hands. Granted the smaller keyboard took some getting used to when I first got it, but I’m use to it now.

Still using my original iPhone SE without any issues alongside my 14 Pro. Not the same, but that is from 2016 so a phone from a year or two ago isn’t going to be a problem.

ah ok sounds good I think 3.5" screen would be way to small in this day in age lol

It’s a 4 inch screen and it’s still getting security updates and will for years to come.

iOS updates aren’t that important if you’re still getting security patches.

Apps are also separate and will also be supported for years.

I need to get my 11 year old daughter her first phone this summer and am looking at this SE. I have a couple of free, unused lines on T-Mobile....comes down to buying a used/refurb SE and popping one of those SIM cards in it OR getting one for 1/2 price from Tmobile with a new line (which I can cancel after 2 years and give her one of the free lines anyway)
