Safari uses it's own custom tabs. Whether or not they changed the custom tabs to look different or to use the system tabs is still in question.

Indeed, interestingly, the link is talking about the possibility that Camino will go to using a custom tab, rather than the system tabs. One of the things mentioned as a benefit of doing this is one of the features that I most want to see added to tabbed browsing: rearrangeable tabs. If Camino got that before Safari, I might have to switch back to Camino...
