I ordered the 11 for delivery on the 7th. As I still have doubts, I also ordered the 13 that will be delivered later on the 20th. If I really like the 11, I will in time cancel the 13, otherwise send it back 11 and come the 13.

I remember going from the 1st gen 12.9 to the 2nd gen - the loss of weight was noticeable. So I think it will be so as well with the 3rd, also depending whether you previously had a wifi-only device or wifi/lte.

There's not much difference in the 3rd gen between wifi or wifi/lte.

Interesting, I didn’t realize there was a weight drop from the first to second generation. Also nice that there’s really no difference in weights for the cellular model.

the poll is exactly 50:50 now, lol

i guess apple got the sizes right.

personally i would like an even smaller Pro than the 11.
something like the Mini, but with the same allscreen design.

but apple seems to hate the mini :(

Just voted now - can’t believe how close it is. I think both are excellent options. I was holding off on voting as I really don’t think the question is objective, but more of a preference.

I was convinced I’d go for the 11, but after going back and forth wound up ordering the 12.9, because I want to give it an extended try that’s not feasible in the store.

My SO recently acquired a Gen 2 12.9 provided by her employer, and I really, really like the screen. The overall size is a bit too large, but I was considering upgrading from my Air 2 to a 12.9 because of the screen size and resolution.

However, with the somewhat reduced overall size of the 12.9, it definitely seems worth a try. If it doesn’t suit my needs (wants, actually) I’ll send it back and buy the smaller one.

If the iPad doesn’t leave your house, get 12.9

12.9 is much better this year without huge bezels but if I need a screen that big portably I’ll just use my MacBook Pro.... and have a device that’s 100x more useful

I had a first gen 12.9 but sold it and bought a 2nd gen 10.5 pro for its portability. I just sold that yesterday and have pre ordered a 12.9 as I miss the real estate of the bigger screen. The fact it’s physically smaller and has smaller bezels is the icing on the cake for me. As with any purchase, you have to weigh up the pros and cons and then do what’s best for you.

Hope this helps,

Andy :)

I chose the 12.9" and I am moving up from the 10.5"

I wanted to share that holding the Ztotop 12.9" Folio Case I just received Amazon has me thinking I definitely picked the right size. It feels really good in the hand and comfortable to hold with one hand. Also, it seems portable enough as it fits in my Vertx Transit Sling Bag PACKED with my kids clothes, diapers, and wipes. This is my daily edc on weekends. I am pleasantly surprised to see it will be functional on the go. :D

Can you provide a link to the product page? I think I found the 11" one but can't seem to find the 12.9". Also, can you confirm if their branding is on the front of the cover?

I’m still so undecided on both ...last week or so I have been paying attention to how the 10.5 feels in my hands and it just feels right, but when I had the 12.9 I hated how big it was but absolutely loved how big the screen was ... ugh, confused!

I just ordered a 12.9” as well from Best Buy for November 13th delivery. I had ordered a 11” the day they announced them.

I’m gonna test both out and see which I like. I have a 13” MacBook Pro so I feel the 12.9 might be redundant. But I never use my MacBook Pro.

For those on the fence for the 12.9, I think the best size comparison would be to hold a regular 12 inch MacBook in your hand.

The 12.9 iPad has the same length as a 12 inch MacBook (a little over 11 inches).

The 12 inch MacBook is a very portable size. I think many people will say the same for the new 12.9 iPad Pro
