Any downsides to the co2CREA case? I like the look & and fit, and the price is certainly reasonable. I haven't seen a negative point yet, although I haven't read every post in this thread. I think I'd likely travel with my AirPod Pros but this would be nice if I really wanted to take the APMs.

It looks like a nice case. Only downside I can see is that the APM won't fit with the headband fully extended.

I ordered the Dignis Airpods Max pouch direct from Dignis:

DIGNIS AIRPODS MAX POUCH - DIGNIS (cafe24.com)

Gif and cut-away showing how the APP is stored in the case

They're reasonably priced at $70 USD though DHL shipping from S. Korea to USA is $20.

Overall these aren't much more than other cases in the $99-100 price range.

If you're not familiar with Dignis - they're a very well know and regarded case brand for IEMs and DAPs (Hi-Res digital audio players). Unique Melody includes a custom Dignis Arca leather IEM case with their MEST MkII.

Dignis Airpods Max pouch arrived yesterday evening and apologies for the poor quick photos:

IMG_2342.jpeg IMG_2344.jpeg IMG_2345.jpeg IMG_2346.jpeg IMG_2347.jpeg IMG_2349.jpeg

Quick take aways - material is not leather but padded water resistant rigid case, synthetic leather and trim, with breathable mesh fabric lined interior.

Headband doesn't need to be adjusted to fit as case flap adjusts and provides a secure magnetic attachment - there are 4 magnetics. The charging port cut out is perfect. Case also makes for a great stand. There's a slim pouch on the back for storing cables.

Thanks for sharing. Are you sure the case remains closed even at 75% extension of the headband?

Yep.

I just tested extending the APP to maximum extension and what it looks like with case closed, just for you.

Without APP, case measures about 8.25”

With App extended to max extension, case measures 8.75”

My pleasure! I do a fair amount of travel and wasn’t too impressed with cheap cases or oddly shaped cases from other brands.

I ordered the case on the 24th and arrived on the 29th so pretty quick trip from S. Korea to WDC.

Couple or more notes on the case (not that this is a weakness or issue with the case)

- sides aren’t rigid like a traditional case, but the rigid front, back and interior cup divider provide the overall structure and rigidity to the case.

- the headphone “U” cup portion isn’t sewn to the case though how the bottom of the case is design, the cups never touch a surface - I think of it as “suspending” the APP.

So do you guys not bother with the handbag case? Got my air pods max and not a fan of the case more due to protection

I haven't ever used the included case, or any case at all. I was thinking of getting something to put the APM in when I travel. Not sure I want to use the included case in my current backpack. I might just get a backpack/messenger with a better spot to put the APM and their included case in.

I definitely don't want to fiddle with the headband sizing.

Haven’t used the case at all, leave them on the Benks stand when they aren’t in use, just charge them every couple of days.

Same. I have a stand in the living room and bedroom. I charge them every 3-4 nights depending on usage.

I tried the UAG case and I would not recommend it. The fit is very tight. You have to push the band all the way down for it to properly fit. I did not enjoy having to readjust my headphones every time I took them out of that case. I returned it.

Same. I can't find a decent case that'll fit the APM without pushing the headbands in.

Decided to order 3 cases to do a comparison. Key features for me was that the case had to have a magnet to allow for sleep mode and to be as small as possible.
TLDR: All 3 were able to put the APMs into sleep mode and had held the APMs in place securely. It was tough to choose between the Geekria or intelliARMOR - but went with intelliARMOR as the best combo of look, feel, and security.

To that end, I ordered the following cases:
- Geekria UltraShell: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08R91RBT7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  • Outside material is velvety/flocked and feels very nice and premium, though not sure how well this would hold up over time
  • Interior dividers were velcro (as expected) but did not feel as nice or as robust as hoped
  • Do not have to adjust headband in order to fit into case after adjusting the divider placement
  • Need to remove all of the dividers in order to fit the APMs in the case with the Apple Bra case
  • Zipper is not very smooth and seems like it may rub against the APMs
  • Included handle, accessories bag, and pouch - felt out, but not premium (which is fine for the price)
- JILIELE Replacemet Smart Case: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08VMXJ2FJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  • Looks pretty cool and is definitely custom designed for the APMS. The other two cases probably are using generic shells with custom inserts
  • Biggest of all 3 cases...and too big for my tastes.
  • Have to move headband to smallest setting in order to fit into the case
  • Zipper felt nice and did not seem to be close to touching APM cups
  • No handle, so not as easy to carry, but not a huge concern for me since the case would be used in conjunction with a backpack for travel
- intelliARMOR CarryOn Max Premium: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08XZWT72C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  • Shell material felt nice and will likely hold up over time
  • Zipper is smooth and has rubberized lip for additional water protection
  • Interior is pretty cool looking and seemingly customized for the APMs
  • Did not need to adjust headband in order to place into the case
  • Included cable case is nice and premium feeling
  • Handle is a nice to have

Thanks much for the write up. I bought the Intelli case, and am very happy with it.

Yes, great comparison write up. I also bought the intelliARMOR case when first released for my AMPs. Superb case, feels premium & it’s not missed a beat during travel to two countries. AMP’s fully protected as interior feels bespoke designed to fit them plus the case just looks cool.

I’m UK based, so if anyone this side of the pond is thinking of buying, intelliARMOR do ship from the US to UK.

Has anyone tried this? Just ordered on Amazon - only £19.99, thought it was worth a shot as from a fairly established case/accessory brand.
That looks like the APM can remain extended while in the case which I find appealing. Don’t love having to use the Smart Case as well, but I’ll be keeping me eye on this.

Nice find, just ordered one as well. I've held off buying a case, but I'll be going back into the office shortly I could do with something whilst they are in my bag.

Unfortunately it doesn’t have the magnets to put the APM in low power mode.

I’ve got this case and honestly it’s just perfect for my needs. The idea is that the AirPods go in the case in the standard Apple bra case, so the Spigen itself not having magnets is a non issue.

Ordered! Looks good. I like the handle/strap. Also the storage area in the interior!

I don’t use it at all. I have a Waterfield Chocolate leather case.

Adding insult to injury, without the included leather case, the APM would probably sell for under $500. Apple sold their leather iPad sleeves for well over $100. The leather bra has less leather but looks much more complicated to make. So I’m guessing Apple added over well over $50 to the price to cover the cost of the bra.

The spigen one looks good! For anyone who has it, does it require readjusting regularly? I mean do the airpods need readjusting if you use the case?
