According to 9to5Mac, the Apple Card is now available to all... wondering if that's at least part of why it's showing up for many of you this morning...

https://9to5mac.com/2019/08/20/apple-card-united-states-live/

Apple Insider is also reporting that it "went live to all in the United States"...

https://appleinsider.com/articles/1...w-accepting-applications-in-the-united-states

MacRumors is also reporting it...

Yep - I got the same thing - was told to "give it 24 hours to allow the system to reset". Not sure how much I buy that lol.

They keep telling us 24 hours but nothing works
Yeah, I asked if there was a way for them to reset it, but all I got was the "give it a day or two." I dunno - I suspect now that they opened the floodgates this morning, there'll probably be even more errors.

The rep said you can apply as many times as you want but when I told her the system doesn’t like that, she was like dang
Yeah – I had used the messaging service where you contact Apple on iMessage, and put in Apple Card support, and it puts you through to GS supposedly. They were the ones that gave me the “you can reapply as many times as you like, please refer to the email for our decision.” “Yep – said it was too many applications,” “One moment, let me look into that for you.” “I would give it a couple days for the system to reset itself.” Which I guess could be the case, but the whole approval process just seems so random with this.

I’ve just been through chat, because I only have a US passport and expired license (with my maiden name) as I’m currently in the UK. The GS Apple Card specialist told me I need a valid ID to apply, and please renew my driver’s license before applying again.

Yeah never changed it tried manually inputting everything information wise too but still same nonsense
Yeah, and then they say this, but kind of hard to verify it, if it won't let you get that far:

If you believe this decision was made in error, please re-attempt the application:

  • Ensure your personal information (legal name, SSN, birth date) is accurate and matches your ID, if provided
  • If you were asked to verify your identity with your Driver's license or State-issued Photo ID, make sure:
    • You are capturing the image clearly
    • You position your Driver's license or State-issued Photo ID in the frame, place it on a dark surface, and make sure lighting is adequate with no glare
    • Your ID hasn't expired

Thanks, do you know what the trick is? I’ve seen a few people have managed to make it work but can’t figure out how.
Okay so you have to scan the signature page at the top first and then the picture page second, but you can do it the opposite way if it doesn’t work for you. Also make sure it’s on a dark background with no glare and a black T-shirt will work

I have the new Real ID drivers license, so I’m now wondering if that may be the issue. I just tried the suggestion of using a passport and it also didn’t work, tried with sig pay then photo, then the other way around. Just says ID can’t be verified.

Apple Card is now available to everyone, so try applying now
I just tried, it doesn't make any difference. If you're banned, you're banned, and the fact that the card is now available to everyone makes no difference: you're banned for life from the Apple Card anyway.

Apple itself announced it with a press release, so it is indeed official. I am attaching the press release.

I don’t think it’s a ban for life more like ban for 30 days
