I get a chuckle from the fact that the $6k base model has only a 256GB SSD (as reported).
Yes, storage can be expanded, and the target market will no doubt use networked storage for work, but even the base iMac Pro gets a 1TB SSD standard.

The biggest cost is the LR-DIMMs at 128GB a DIMM that are even on Newegg around $1700 a DIMM. You want 1.5TB it'll cost around $22k-$22.5 after tax USD for just the RAM.

I finally came to terms with the base price... but I’m still bracing myself for the price of my real config with optional storage, GPU, and CPU.
Well I guess we’ll see if I’m returning my 16” MacBook Pro or not.
Stop complaining about the price of the stand. If you just wait till it shows up on the refurbs, you can get it for $849...

My eGPU was better than nothing but after Mac Pro comes I don’t need to see it ever again.

I'm curious if anyone knows... by releasing on December 10, will it release 12:00am December 10 or will it release some random time during the day?
I’ll buy one 10 years from now for $280 off EBay with free XDR display.
I am not sure about other people, but I am totally sick of two things: people complaining about the price of this Mac and people stating they can build cheaper PCs than this Mac. Get over it already!
I can build that new Mac Pro out of moldy cheese and parts I found at goodwill. - say PC people here.
For anyone that thinks this computer is rediculous and costs too much, its not for you. I would love this machine and will probably end up with one. It’s a tax write-off, and those that can benifit from its power, and make enough, are the ones that this is for. Period.
