You know you’re only going to see a digital persona from OTHER people who are using an Apple Vision Pro. You returning yours won’t stop them from talking to you from theirs. If they call you using a digital persona, are you going to tell them you won’t talk to them?
Honestly? I would tell them to call me using FaceTime on their iPhone. I don't want to see that crap, or else I would just call them on the phone using audio only. I don't get the point of not actually seeing someone, and instead seeing a fuzzy, creepy ghost that phases in and out of reality with trans-dimensional hands like some kind of AI nightmare.

To each their own. I have an AVP and right now don't plan on even setting up my digital persona because I wouldn't want someone else to see me in that fashion either but I don't think I'd refuse to talk to someone if that is how they appeared in a connection, especially if I called them and they happened to be in the middle of using their AVP.

My only point was he was complaining about not wanting to see a digital version of someone but that had nothing to do with his use of an Apple Vision Pro.

there seems to be no way to watch VR videos from the internet. Yes, I'm talking about porn. It's not the only reason at all that I wanted this, but I'm not gonna lie, it's a factor.. and the fact that this headset doesn't allow it to work and seemingly doesn't even allow third-party apps to make it work might be the ultimate deal-breaker for me.
Yeah this sucks big time. I hope that this changes with some level of creative development, or through the use of webXR, or even apps like DeoVR and how it’s used on headsets like the quest.

I think this is such a bummer because this is kind of a private topic and hits the heart of privacy. If there is a company that I have faith would try to protect that privacy, regardless of the reasons, it would be Apple. Meta and other manufacturers make me feel uneasy with use cases like this or any others where sensitive or private matters are handled.

I hope it doesn’t stay this way or it just hasn’t been fully explored yet.

You surely knew these things before you ordered one, and knew what it looks like and how it’s worn. You still went ahead and ordered one.

What did you expect Apple to do about those issues?
To sell a market ready device and non a "delta" tester.

What do they know? Most of them have spent less than a week with this product.
Im also imagining that they have been trained to sort of deflect customer issues in a sort of honest way. If a customer asks “is glare a known issue?” The rep can “no”, with the meaning that “to us, it’s not an issue, I’m sort of you think it is.” It becomes more a matter of perspective and you can expect Apple employees to take whatever perspective leads to the highest sales and lowest return rates. They can try different fittings or suggestions, but still deflect.

It is ultimately up to you if it’s an issue.

if at all undecided…can’t see any reason NOT to return it.

when that return window closes then you have no further choice…but if you decide to return it and then later regret it then you can always repurchase.

Waiting for Apple Support to call me and resolve issues that I feel will make it or break it.

  • Mac Virtual Display does not work with my Studio Mac M1 running Sonoma.
  • Control center arrow is all the way on top of my ceiling - very difficult to find.
  • Apps are missing (Disney +, Hulu, etc).
  • Facial pain on cheekbones / lower optic orbit

lol. Honestly, I’ve been staring at my laptop, when working remotely, and having a larger screen with other apps, open surrounding me, makes me feel more connected and in touch with reality.

This is the future, the technology will improve, and I will 100% be a part of it. in the meantime, I am going to enjoy our preview of the Star Trek future and work more officially because of it

I'll tell them to call me on my iphone or Mac for a much better REAL video call!

You don’t seem to understand—the device you use is not the determining factor but rather what they call you with. If someone is using the Apple Vision Pro on a call, you’ll see the digital persona. You using an iPhone or Mac won’t change that.

I am leaning towards returning it due to how uncomfortable it is and the poor text quality, but I'm going to give it a few days to change my mind.

You can adjust control center arrow height in settings.

I am going back and forth… part of me wants to keep it, but part of me also thinks that the next version will be the one to buy. I have 10 more days in my free trial period…

Yes, it is so annoying that it's way up in the ceiling to get to that little green arrow.

Apple needs to move that arrow so people don't strain their necks or worse, fall backwards...

Hi, as I mentioned above, you can move the arrow down so that is right above all of your content. This is done in settings.

Yes, the Apple rep told me to move all the windows to eye level as any window that is placed the highest will cause the control arrow to be even higher.

So now all my AVP windows are at eye level and the control arrow now shows at a reasonable height.

Apple needs to redesign the placement and size of this arrow for easier access...

I will ask them to call me on my iphone 15ProMax or on my MacBook Air 15"
"the old fashion way" which is much better than what I have experienced on VisionPro.
