Looks great. Did you find the scotch guard makes a big difference? I’ve cleaned mine a few times with detergent, but never put scotch guard on it.

FineWoven - Wear/Tear/Aging

The Scotchguard definitely gives me some peace of mind not to worry about stains, so I’d say yes.
The only struggle with cleaning the FineWoven and applying Scotchguard is that it could get white stains while drying and than it looks like a washed out Denim.
The trick is to let it dry evenly.
I can recommend my method:
1. Fully submerge it in laundry detergent water solution and hand wash it.
2. Wash it off with clear water.
3. Let it fully dry out laying flat outside with the Apple Logo facing up for about 30 minutes. It should dry somewhat fast. Just wait until you don’t see water stains on it anymore.
4. After it has fully dried it is time to apply the Scotchguard. I’m kinda radical and apply it everywhere until it is really soaked with the Scotchguard.
5. Do a round of Air Drying again for about 30 minutes until the Scotchguard also fully dries up.
Then it should look good again and be protected from stains.
Again, it sounds like a complicated hassle, but it’s very easy to clean it and really worth it after a while to kill germs etc. The case is surprisingly „forgiving“. Just use your hands and rub all dirt off in the laundry detergent. It even feels softer after this process and as a bonus it smells like fresh laundry. 😌

Looks good! Little bit of wear around the edges but for six months use you’ve maintained it well.

I just wanted to drop into this old thread and say I put my Finewoven Taupe case on the shelf after 3 months because it looked too dingy. I had once use a bit of soap to wash a bad spot on it but the case looked "tired" and so I moved on. I saw iPhonedo's video on cleaning a nightmarishly dirty Finewoven case and so I picked up my "old" Finewoven case I haven't used in 4+ months and did the following... 1) ran it under warm water 2) put a couple drops of Tide laundry detergent on it 3) used a soft laundry brush (sort of like a larger toothbrush) and scrubbed it inside and out for a couple of minutes 4) rinsed it and finally 5) used a hair dryer to dry the case. The entire process took under 10 minutes for sure. THE CASE LOOKS BRAND NEW. all the dirt and oils are gone. there are no longer slight marks in the surface of the fabric and the ring from MagSafe went away. it really is at least 98% as good as straight from the package. it's a bit eye opening how little work it took to refresh the case and changed my opinion of the value of these Finewoven cases. here is the video that made me try it:
I've happily moved on to a 3rd party case and I just don't foresee myself ever going back to a finewoven case. But I appreciate you sharing this with us. Glad to see that it can have its OG look restored with some TLC.
That looks pretty good. I just put my FW case back on after about a month not using it. I'll give that a try this weekend, without the blow dry. I've washed it a few times and it dries really quickly, I'll just let it air dry.
I'm sure letting it dry by itself (I did that when I just cleaned up a spot) was quick but I found no adverse effect drying it with a hair dryer and it was done in like 2 minutes that way... I think if you have a real soiled case having it dry quickly might be useful because you could see easier if you missed a spot and re-wash it and still have the whole process take not much time, rather than losing an extra day.
I think at a minimum they lost the narrative with the Finewoven so I wouldn't be surprised to see them go away with the 16 series this fall and another type of case take their place. I think the Finewoven case feels and looks good to me but when it gets dirty it doesn't develop an attractive patina like leather and people aren't very aware of how washable / cleanable they are so they just toss them in the bin thinking it was a wasted purchase. I honestly think the Finewoven isn't half bad when you realize how easily cleaned they are.
Agree on the feel of the case. I was going with the Nomad leather back and then caseless for about a month or two, and I put the FW back on because it feels better than the leather. The "squish" on the back of the case is underrated, makes it feel nice in the hands.
I use a variety of cases, so my FineWoven hasn't seen 6 months of hard use or anything, but I do use it a reasonable bit (rotating with my Andar and Bullstrap leather cases), and my blue one still looks essentially brand new. I don't even have any scratches in the fabric. The color might be a little more muted than when it was new, but that's about it.
Thought I would provide an interesting but overall good experience with a badly ageing launch day FineWoven case. Firstly, unfortunately I didn’t actually take a photo of it (and I don’t have it anymore, more on that in a sec) because it was so appalling; the blue colour on the fabric back was discolouring with grime, and as for the hardened sides of the case, it was peeling off kinda like a blister. Honestly it was not good.
I thought I would try my luck at the Apple Store and see if I could luck out with a replacement because this is just not good and definitely not value for money at $99. So I go in and nicely bring to their attention that the case is peeling, would this be covered under the warranty? The specialist says sure let me go and check with someone. She comes back and says yes, this would be under warranty and we can replace it for you (😍), however, it won’t be the normal way of exchanging with one off the wall, we will make you an express appointment at the Genius Bar, and will replace through there, follow me.
Essentially, a worker from the Genius Bar ordered in a replacement for me, that I would need to return to at a later day to pick up. Not the most convenient but obviously more than happy to just take the free replacement. It was a few days before I got the email telling me to come back, and voila, came in a blank white box and I have a brand new FineWoven case all over again, and yeah just looking at, I’m like wow this looks so fresh and clean. The old case I had to give in.
I was happy with the service, but still it’s sad knowing in 6 months no matter how gentle you are with it, it’s going to look awful.

Okay, so after 7 months after reveal FW cases. Who have it to this day and using it still? Mby some photos and thoughts?
My Pacific Blue FW case got messed up with oily hand cream and i simply rubbed it with a damp cloth with Fairy liquid detergent and 5hen rinsed it with very hot water , let it full6 dry and viola it’s as good as new - have it since Oct last year when new iPhone 15 Pro arrived lovey case and feels great to touch
I'm still using it! It definitely has signs of wear and tear- it has began to peel at the edges primarily next to the action + volume buttons and towards the USB-C connector too. Besides its flaws, I do actually like the case but considering choosing an alternative option for when the 16s come out. (probably third party leather case, or something similar)
I found an open box listing for 25 bucks from a pretty legit looking seller on eBay (99% positive feedback with 48k items sold). I thought why not, I'll give it a shot. The seller offers free returns, but for $25 I might just keep it.
I do like this case. A lot.
I've just bought a 13 Pro in Sierra and now regret it as have read it looks more silver than blue. Even more annoying is I turned down a Pacific blue for it, which was a lot cheaper.
If I bought this woven case, how well does it hold to a magsafe charger? My fear is of the phone falling off.
