Serious question. I would LOVE to use my iPhone more, but right now use less than 60GB and could delete a bunch of stuff and free up even more space easily.

I am wondering what you guys and girls do to use so much storage. I'd like to learn!

I have the same issue because I use iCloud for my photos. I have a 256 phone but I can’t fathom filling it all:).

I NEED to download hundreds of movies because who knows when I want to watch one on a postage stamp-sized screen at any given time! Like what if I’m in a log cabin in the woods you know?? It doesn’t matter that I can’t physically watch them all, I don’t even think about that, it just feels good man! Entertainment is life!

Consume consume consume chomp chomp chomp

Lol! Totally get it. I think what should I put on the phone and then I think...just put it down.

I came to this thread genuinely curious as to why anyone would buy a phone with half a terabyte of storage in it. Serves me right, I guess. lol!

I filmed my cousin’s play in 4K @ 60 FPS and it took up over 200 GB. Looked fantastic though. I also do a lot of offline downloading for music, Netflix, etc. so I don’t use up all my data when I’m on the go.

Most people who purchase this use their iPhone as a day to day camera when they don't have their DSLR or as someone pointed out, they're one of those successful YouTube types who require fast filming without bulk. That said, I suspect most who buy this variant of the iPhone are uploading to a third party service like Google One or Amazon or DropBox.

I keep my entire music library 30 GB on it. As well as bunch of movies 160 GB. Also have entire world map 36 GB downloaded, so all need is gps to navigate not internet.

Also to keep speed as high as possible keep 30 to 40% drive empty. Am at about 300 GB.

I never even think about memory regardless of what I download, movies, pictures, I take, etc.

Have 1TB on my iPad Pro as well. Never to young, never too rich, never too much memory. At least I have one of the three covered.

I knew a girl who would always buy the highest capacity cause it was “the best one available”

Pretty sure she used less than 50gb of it
I know people who buy Mercedes to go grocery shopping. Never use vehicle anywhere near it’s capability. $50k extra for star in the hood. LOL

But what would more capability be used for? I mean we have speed limits and the roads are paved.

Yeah, have a friend who said almost exactly the same. She was using 128GB iPhone 6 Plus and wanted 256GB XR (the top of the line for XR). In reality, she was just using half of her 128GB iPhone 6 Plus after all these years, and it took me a while to convince her that her usage won’t double just because she upgraded her phone. Finally she opted for the 128GB XR.

For cars, there’s the comfort factor. The Benz is sure more comfortable than, let’s say a Honda.

A 512GB iphone has the same exact hardware sans the extra storage as a 64 or 256GB iPhone.

I have a 128GB SE, which has about 30GBs free. I would have gotten a larger size storage if it was available.

I probably could have delt with the cheaper 64GB SE, but I didn't ever wants to deal with having to delete stuff when I run out of storage.

I'd imagine there are many other iPhone users that felt similar. No matter if they are shooting 4K video, storaging large amounts of media, playing a lot of games, or taking lots of photos, it is nice to not have to worry about running out of space.

With Apple devices, you can never have too much storage, but there are plenty of people out there that had to deal with having too little storage.

Most people probably don't even pay attention to their free space, until they run out of it.

Family member right here. There was also someone on here who said his 512gb max was the only true flagship. Buying a car with 500hp and driving slow most of the time is worth it for those few times you can get on it. Unused storage is absolutely worthless.

Hahah the things people say!

How about this:

“The only true flagship is 512 MAX but it HAS to be in gold because gold signifies wealth” haha!

What a joke.
