What is the difference?
The 12 “white” has a weird yellow-purplish tint and looks slightly “dirty” (to my eyes). The 13 white is a normal off-white, i.e. a bit more yellowish than the classic iPhone/iPad white. The aluminum band on the 12 is slightly more champagne-y/bronze-ish than the 13. The 13 band is still somewhat champagne-y, but less than the 12.

Although I prefer white/silver to black, I chose a midnight 12 because the starlight 12 was too “off”. With the 13 I reverted to starlight. While I would prefer the classic neutral white/silver, the 13 is okay-ish. Depending on the lighting, it can pass as neutral — until you compare it to a classic white/silver iPhone or iPad, that is.

I was using a 13 Pro Max 1 TB from October 2021 to September 2022. My fiancée bought me a 13 Mini 512 GB in September 2022. I kept the 13 Pro Max in case I missed its size, camera, or ProMotion, but it hasn't been turned on since I made the switch. I absolutely love the Mini. It's my favorite iPhone that I've owned (my favorite iPhone that I haven't owned is the green iPhone 5c). I can see myself holding on to this phone for a very, very long time. One thing that's rarely mentioned is how better most cases look on a Mini.
Ok I used a 13 pro for less than a week. My wife got the 14 pro max (awesome phone but too damn big). Ehhhh. After the initial newness wore off I did not like how big and wide the 13 pro is. Sold the 13 pro to my friend. I like how the mini disappears in my pocket. Best kept secret from apple. My upgrade path have been 12 mini, to 13 mini 128 blue, to higher capacity 13 mini soon.

Thinking about getting a 13 mini. If I do, that’s the same one (color and storage size) I want! I might also get a second one as backup, but I’ll wait until they’re about to be discontinued.
Just completed migration to my Starlight 13 mini. Don’t worry the pinkish hue is this damn red drapes i have up (ex out ‘em up lazy to take them down but hey “🎵🎤Roxanne don’t have to put on the red light”)

Looking to see a DBrand camera decal to make it a full storm trooper. It’s actually a VERY nice white like the iPhone 4S’ white with a tiny hint of shine to it. Looks really good as I usually avoid white iPhones. The front is all black with a tiny trim of the Mayte aluminum border. Looks proppah!

Got a 13 mini, bought a 14 Pro to try out with the intention of upgrading but the differences just aren't worth it.

Dynamic Island gets old quickly, the always-on display is alright and obviously the screen size and cameras are noticeably better/bigger, but all of these aren't big enough differences to make me want to lose the lightweight, one-handed, more portable mini. The 14 Pro is HEAVY and whilst it feels nicer in the hand it's really cumbersome and that's without a case.

Overall, the 14 Pro has some nice little extras but they really aren't worth the huge premium and the mini has strengths over the 14 Pro (lighter, easier to hold).

The 13mini at $599 is a great price. Especially if you don’t need/want the telephoto lens.

The gold-ish looking aluminum is an illusion caused. By sunlight coming through my red drapes. I wasn’t ever a fan of gold on iPhones in any iteration, although on the OG SE it looked best.

Telephoto lens is missed but not so much as I used to like on the 12 mini, for me at least. There’s always the Moment lenses and cases as alternative to get even better pictures.

Same (attempted) move here. Returned the 14 Pro; now I know better. :)

My wife just got a 13 mini as she did not like the size and weight of my 14 Pro. She had a 2nd generation SE and she was curious on the differences so when I bought my 14 Pro at the cell company store she was looking at the standard iPhone 13 and she made a comment that she could not one hand type with it since she is so small. I pointed out the 13 mini and she fell in love with the size as she could one hand type. She wanted to buy it right away and I asked let me check on the military/veteran page of Apple and found it at 10% off So price went down from $599.00 to $539.00. I asked what color she wanted and she selected the white.

It did take her a while to get used to the fact she no longer had the home button but a week later she is rocking a nice 13 mimi.

Maybe someone can answer this question -

I’m financing my iPhone 14 Pro with my Apple Card. I’ve had it for over a month now, realized I like my 12 mini a lot better, so I’d like to sell my 14 Pro. I assume not, but does it need to be completely paid off before someone else can activate it? And is it possible to get a refund on AppleCare+, or does that automatically transfer with the iPhone?

Regarding AppleCare, see https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202712. Both transferring the AppleCare plan to the new owner (which doesn’t happen automatically) or to a new device is in principle possible. Regarding Apple Card, there shouldn’t normally be a problem with selling the device while you’re still paying it off.

Love my 12 mini. Would like to upgrade for a 13 mini to be future proof. Until Apple releases this size again in the future.

But I have other priorities for my money, so I will keep going with my 12 mini.
Battery life is oke, will change the battery next year and that’s it.
When I need extra juice I just click on my MagSafe powerbank.

Absolutely love it.

Switched back to the 13 Mini a few weeks ago, perfect size and I like the increased battery over the 12 Mini. Went with a 512GB Starlight

I just got a 13 Mini in Midnight a couple weeks ago myself, and am just amazed how good the battery. Easily getting 48 hours between charges based on my usage, so noticeably better than my 12 Mini. I charged my 13 Mini to 100% on a Monday at 23.00 ish, and then didn't have to charge again until Thursday lunch time!

Show us yours … would be interesting to see any case choices or make or skins if any used.

It’s nice to see more liking the 12/13 mini on these forums.

Personally I’ve enabled sharing data usage with Apple and App Developers as I want each camp to know there are those of us out there that still want to use this model and require continued support and not the be ignored or left out far too early.

I got my 13 mini in midnight, and then was lucky to get a Apple Midnight leather case for only £5 (with £20 work voucher on half price sale). Omg these 2 together look beautiful! Sorry didnt have a chance to take photos yet.

Back home to Bangkok after a golf/drinking trip to meet up with old friends in Chicago... and as I said I would in another iPhone Mini thread, I now have a 13 mini which was traded in (very easy experience with Apple online) for my 12 mini in blue.

The new green 13 mini is the 512Gb, as i've got a hefty (~170Gb) music library from many years of lossless CD rips etc... it's great (definitely better battery life) and I recommend the Flolab matte screen protector too - cuts the reflections down a lot while being unnoticeable otherwise.

I plan on sending an email to Tim Apple about this, because canceling the mini is probably the stupidest idea that Apple has had recently

Some of us dont want to walk around with a motherf brick in our pockets.

Had iPhone X…tried 13 Mini, ultimately went with 14 Pro but the Mini is the best form factor of an iPhone that exists, period.

I want to own both but I probably won’t just because of this stupid forced eSim thing. It’s too annoying to go back and forth with my carrier so it wouldn’t make sense to own two phones for me…except when traveling overseas.

I like the Mini when I’m out running or walking around a lot but I like the Pro when I’m at home or not super active.

I wish the Mini gods would bless us with a Pro-like Mini but with proportionally-sized cameras. 120hz of course. I can live without the best battery life.

You would think there would be more phones this size, especially in the Android world where there are so many niche phones, but it just doesn’t exist. Even the Zenfone 9 isn’t really the same at all.
