Not professional but a good comp of cameras of the P30 Pro, S10+, and iPhone XS Max.

In short, the P30 blows everything else away in terms of zoom and low light photography. It really sets a new standard for 2019.

It's not really the P30 per se (although its better hardware does help), but Huawei's night mode algorithm is quite amazing. I have the Honor View 10 (Honor is Huawei's sub-brand), which lacks OIS, yet its night view pics can still be sharp and clean. The only issue is the waiting for 5 to 10 seconds holding the phone, which most people won't have the patience/understand.

Have yet to try Xiaomi's, but I heard they're pretty good as well, although not as advance as Huawei's.

In short, these Chinese OEMs do give Samsung a hard time as Samsung's high end pricing can no longer justify anything anymore other than its brand.

Huawei reported revenues on Friday that topped $100 billion for 2018 for the first time.

So it IS still possible to make money selling smartphones. So it IS still possible to sell smartphones at all.

Someone please show this to Tim Cook. Apple seems to think smartphones are a dead end and so they have to invest in making a show about morning shows and an apocalypse show with blind survivors instead. Alrighty then....sigh...

Well, to be specific, revenue doesn't necessarily equate to profit (making money). It just means they've sold that much worth of goods and services. They could very well have lost money--i didn't see specific mention of profit in that linked article.

Loving this beast so far, will post my thoughts when I have had more time, but so far, great device, screen is not as sharp as the Mate 20 Pro which is to be expected, but it still great quality, camera is amazing

@Tsepz Is that a clear soft case that comes in the box? I’m perfectly happy with my S10+ but I can’t help hovering over the buy button on the Pro.

Just watched a great video of a camera comparison between the S10 and P30 Pro.

I am so impressed with the zoom functions of the P30 Pro.

I never thought I'd say it but even I'm half tempted despite loving my S10+!

I hope this pushes other companies to improve their zoom and low light. Even if I don't use a certain phone or whatever I would t get mad if something came out that did stuff better, that would just be stupid. It is good to these companies to keep leap frogging one another. I like Huawei phones, I hadhad Honor 8 and it was was nice

Do we know of the European / UK P30 Pro will be dual SIM? As in two physical Sims? My S10 Plus is which isn't the norm over here but I like the functionality.

Yep. Dual SIM with Dual LTE (LTE functionality available to both SIM 1 AND SIM 2 at the same time).

Of course carriers may decide to do software limitations.

Holding this device feels as though I am holding a tech marvel, I keep looking at its backside to look at the 8MP Periscope Camera, it is square and looks awesome, it's a nice touch that shows that the device is not using some run-of-the-mill camera setup but something more special, I am blown away.

Top this off with a 4200mAh battery, 256GB internal memory and the 8GB RAM, its a truly incredible device.

While the OEMs try getting better at building Foldable devices, I am happy to snap up these innovative slabs like the P30 Pro, Galaxy S10 5G and Nokia 9.

Battery Life comparisons

Thanks @Tsepz

Pictures look great. I had a P20 and Pro last year and I really liked them. Way more than I thought I would but looking back they were probably some of my favourite devices from last year.

EMUI is not an issue when you can slap a launcher like Lawn chair on and essentially make it behave like a Pixel. And it was so snappy and responsive too.

I hate to say it but even I'm tempted as they're offering a free Sonos speaker with every preorder and my sister has just bought one of those for her house and it's a great bit of kit.

Looks amazing. I just don't like the curvature of the front glass. But everything else is spot on and that zoom has me choking on my envy. :p
