Looking like 11.2.5 beta 4 does. Will post if anything changes but haven't seen the out of order problem in over a day since installation

If I send someone a message, the reply I get shows up ABOVE the message I sent instead of below. Its very random and seems to happen when someone is replying very quickly after my message or while we are both typing. It almost feels like on the iMessage servers they aren't being time stamped properly or something.

I have logged out and back into iMessage on all devices, restarted, etc. The problem corrects itself for a short time and then starts back up all over again. Also force quitting messages and opening it back up seems to put the messages back in their original proper order before the problem starts all over again.

Multiple threads already on this topic. Restoring doesn’t fix it. It’s an issue with the core of iOS. MacOS doesn’t it as well. We believe it’s related to month 13 out of bounds issue.

Some saying 11.2.5 betas fixes it....hopefully. Its kind of ridiculous that iMessages is this screwed up and its the most used app. This could cause major headaches in certain situations.

I see this all the time. Additionally, sometimes my phone doesn't give me an alert tone for a new message even though I see a badge icon on my Mac. Upon opening messages on my Mac, the sound goes off, many times it reverberates too.

I read somewhere that this could be their way of "testing" imessage in the cloud that originally supposed to come with iOS 11. The fact we all started seeing this with 11.2 is not a coincidence. My guess is they are testing the syncing to the cloud and using us all as guinea pigs before its released. Which is why so many of us with multiple devices (Mac, iPad, iPhone) show erratic behavior. I'd be curious on how many people that ONLY have an iPhone are seeing this.

My messages are ALL out of whack. I just realized now that the messages that are getting stuck at the bottom (i.e. most recent) are sent IN THE FUTURE. The timestamp on this one text on my Mac is 5:06:19 PM, but right now it's only 5:03 PM. And I sent it like an hour ago at 4 PM, anyway. Whaaat.

Which version of iOS?

I sent hundreds of messages on 11.2.5 beta 5, all in the right order today

Kind of an embarrassing glitch. In 2018 and Apple can’t display messages in proper order
As was allowing root access to a password protected computer just to name another. But embarrassing glitches seemed to be the state of Apple's software in 2017. Hopefully this year brings a little reflection on their part to properly test their software for this kind of nonsense. Apple needs a "snow leopard" year.....just pause with all the new software stuff and polish whats already out. We all know it needs it. Some of these ridiculous bugs are proof.
