my battery has been stuck at 89% now for a number of months however, according to Coconut Battery the capacity has actually increased to 95/96% - that seems very strange to me, makes me wonder if Coconut Battery isn't working well with the latest version of iOS.
My coconut battery estimate went from 93% to 100% after the latest IOS update, meanwhile according to IOS I am still at 92% max capacity on my 13 pro Max. Which is more accurate?
Technically, they should be pulling from the same data. I've been hearing more and more reports of this though. 3.9.7 is still the latest version (for coconutBattery). Hmm. <shrug>. I guess we could email the developer.
It is probably the same raw data. However, coconutBattery appears to calculate and log at the moment it grabs the data (at app launch, I assume). On the other hand, Apple’s own Battery Health percentage result appears to be based on averages, or a more complex algorithm.

And as I noted earlier:
The battery health reported by iOS/macOS/watchOS is the only one that matters because it is what Apple is going to consider when providing support and allowing battery replacement.

my launch iPhone 12 Pro. 89% battery capacity according to the phone (been set to that for at least 6 months if not more). However according to coconut more like 96/97%.

How interesting...... I'd have expected those values to be reversed. Coconut taking info from Apple's system while Apple's own % would "fudge" the numbers higher.

Yeah if the 500 80% thing is right, then yeah I'd be happy with 91% 400 cycles. I hope to get to 400 cycles on my current phone! (I rarely get to 250 before I trade it in).
500 cycles update, 90% battery health. Still charging mostly in the range 30 - 85%. Quite happy with the results, I bought it in April 2021.

I decided to stick with my iPhone 12 Pro. I also thought it time to give a battery health update.

First is the inbuilt Apple battery health indicator.
Second is iMazing.
Third is coconut battery.

Weird right.

From the FAQ from coconut battery:

I'm assuming iMazing also reads out raw data. iOS readings are a bit more conservative.

Interesting. I’ve seen a lot of people report that Apples battery % often reads higher than system data. Yours is opposite tho. Lol

20 month old 12 pro 85% battery health. Still get 22 hours battery life so it’s dropped off a bit but still better than wife’s S22U Exynos which is 5 months old.
But roll on February for replacement time. Either 14 pro or 14 plus depends what’s available.

12 Pro Max.

Apple battery health showing 83% - Not sure how accurate that is considering its been stuck on 83% for almost a year now!

Havent changed my charging habits when compared to my XS Max which was showing 92% when I stopped using it!

But yeah, the battery life on my 12 Pro Max is shocking! and even though I have Apple care, I cant get a new battery just yet :(

My wife's iPhone 12 Pro (24 months old) shows the following
868 cycles, 91.9% health (coconut) 2578 mAh capacity.

according to Apple battery health - 85%.

Once the battery drops below 30% the drops are far more quicker and unpredictable- for instance, one minute the phone will show 14% and then will drop to 9% and then 30 seconds later to 8% etc.

The phone is covered by AppleCare+. Any chance Apple will do free battery service or do we must wait till it drops under 80%?

It’s the circa 80% battery hell you’ll be living in waiting for it to reach 80%. Cleverly done by Apple me thinks.
