I charge with a cable at home, wired carplay in the car, and a generic wireless charger at work. I've never understood the point of a magsafe charger, nor have I ever seen one in use. Battery is full when I wake, so slow or fast charge makes no difference.

I truly do not understand this. Do you not think that would be a concern when MagSafe was being developed?

Cable. I have a small MagSafe charger I bought for Airpods, but since I use a loopy case, I’d have to remove it every time I charge my phone (other than in my car). No thanks.

The battery health on my old 12 Mini took a sudden sharp decline when I started using wireless charging.

After switching back to a cable, the battery health stopped declining.

So I charge my 15 with the OG 5-watt brick, with the 80% limit. I still make it to the end of the day with 20-30% left after 4-5 hours of screen-on time.

I expect this battery to outlast the zombie apocalypse.

The evidence seems to indicate that it either wasn’t considered, or it was deliberately ignored. Gotta sell those accessories after all.

Furthermore, the oh-so-green Apple seems to be forgetting that wireless charging is only half as efficient as cable charging. If every phone on earth charges wirelessly, that’s one heck of an increase in electricity consumption.

But hey, gotta sell those accessories.

12 Mini 5W charger with cable, never needed faster charging and convenience is not an issue. I suspect if I was a heavy phone user it would be one of the more modern charging methods.

I use MagSafe at home, and a 35w lighter port adapter (with Lightning cable, of course) in the car.

Magsafe overnight with a 40w brick, MagSafe battery on the commute, cable when traveling in hotel rooms with a 120w brick.

iPhone 14 Pro, I’m at 98% degradation after just over a year of usage.

I've used wireless charging since the X and MagSafe on every MagSafe-compatible iPhone and I've owned one phone from every series. My battery never degraded past 98%

I use a 40W charger but only let it charge to 80%, which is more than enough for a day in my use case.

I’m hesitant to use wireless charging because of faster battery degradation, so I’ve been charging with a cable at 20w.
Most of the time MagSafe. The only time I use a cable is in the car. I charged my 14 Pro Max overnight, every night, with MagSafe. By the time I traded it in for my 15 Pro Max, its max battery was at 97%. I consider that more than acceptable.

Keep in mind, my phone is never sitting on a hot car dash, or in an overheating situation. I never use a case (which will help keep the phone cool under load, etc), so that help, but I never worry about how/when/how much I charge my phone.

I use the Belkin 3 in 1 at home. Charges perfectly overnight with no issues and the standby mode is great with it. At work, if my 15 PM really needs a charge I just use whatever we have around. Most of the time it’s a 20w USBC charger.

I try not to worry about charging methods too much as I upgrade every year.

I use MagSafe so exclusively that when it comes time to use my charger I have to dig out a dryer’s worth of lint out the port🤣🤣🤣

MagSafe. The only time anything gets plugged into my phone is if I rent a car with wired CarPlay (perhaps a week a year).

Cable. I’ve tried wireless charging in the past, but wireless charging in its current form (even magsafe) has always felt like a solution looking for a problem to me.
