Hmm... I thought a late 2007 MacBook is a supported install for Yosemite?
I don't think so. The oldest regular Macbook supported is the 2008 aluminum, then 2009 unibody, from what I've heard.
So does anybody have any ideas what I'm doing wrong here?

thanks :), did u install it after the installation of mcpf ?

Yes, I think I used SFOTT to install Yosemite on iMac 6,1 (late 2006) with GeForce 7300 GT card...

Then I tried that particular web installer package for my updated version of 10.10.5, and again it installs fine (no errors) and the control panel in the menu bar shows it is "using the Nvidia driver," but alas, still it dont work.. About this Mac still shows 9MB and also, when you move the mouse around the dock for it to animate, you can see it is jerky response of the dock.

Hi. Does anyone have either:
MacBookPro2,x
iMac5,1
Xserve1,1/2,1
(i.e. computers with X1300/X1600 GPU)

PM me! I need testers for a solution to FULL OPENGL SUPPORT on 10.8-10.11
You must already have the partial 10.7.5 kexts installed *including* ATIRadeonX1000*.bundle in /S/L/E

Yes, I have iMac 5,1 with Yosemite and working X1300 GPU and audio hacks/kext I can test for you.

ok. put these files inside /S/L/E/ATIRadeonX1000GLDriver.bundle
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8DiAFi2BTxvYkdlU2hOTGN0Sms/view?usp=sharing
(replace the ATIRadeonX1000GLDriver with the tiny one and add the _real_patched)
Then
sudo chmod -R 0755 /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX1000GLDriver.bundle
then reboot

Ok, so I can take your two files and put into *.bundle file? how do I do that? does that bundle file open up like a folder ?

I know how to do the "sudo" command, though...

Also, I dont know what you mean by this: You must already have the partial 10.7.5 kexts installed *including* ATIRadeonX1000*.bundle in /S/L/E

hmm, now try to open launchpad and see if it is fast at opening

Well, Launchpad does open up within 1-2 seconds, no screen redraw... but still not sure if it was this fast before today's change as well.. is there something more definitive to test this OpenGL feature??

:-(

it should show something about AMD Radeon
so it didn't work

I bought an iMac5,1 on eBay (before I posted this) so I can troubleshoot more

Darn it...

Well, I also have iMac 6,1 with Geforce 7300GT card, which has no kext for it on Yosemite (it shows 9MB VRAM)... do you have any news about this?

no, but the same principles of trying to fix this would work
I am going to try more tests when the iMac arrives on Friday
and then if I can't figure it out I'll open source what I'm doing

I might need a new patch, of gldGetVersion to pretend to be a newer driver, some code checks it

Here is a new version. Just replace the ATIRadeonX1000GLDriver file in Contents/MacOS with it.

edit: for other users: it requires you to follow the instructions + download in my original post above first

edit 2: ok so 2 people have downloaded this but not said anything...lol

edit 3: replaced; compiled with -fPIC (I forgot)

edit 4: removed! it freezes at apple logo (windowserver restarts)

I'm totally stumped here. I tried Mac OS Extractor and now I'm using SFOTT, but I cannot get this to work. At the end it just shows a bunch of errors. I have not modified anything at all.
This is what I get when I first open SFOTT:

Working directory /tmp/SixtyFourOnThirtyTwo exists
Working directory /tmp/SixtyFourOnThirtyTwo exists
Moving to working directory /tmp/SixtyFourOnThirtyTwo
zip is here but icon is not here, unzipping icon
ditto: Couldn't read PKZip signature

And when I try to create patch:

Select a Step : 1
Download boot.efi from Tiamo - Macrumors
check if Tiamo's boot.efi is there
boot.efi found (graphic)

Why are all these files missing? Am I totally missing a step after reading how to do this several times, or is there a problem with my computer? I'm running a Macbook 3,1 (A1181 Late 2007) on OS X 10.7.3 Lion. Recent install of Lion (a couple days old after messing up the boot.efi files when I was attempting to use macOS Extractor) so it's not like I've messed with any setting that could cause an issue.
Anybody know what I can do? I'm totally lost at this point, and I'd really like to get this computer running Yosemite.

I tried the first download on my MacBookPro2,1 and it still shows the software renderer like be236 reported.
