Very normal. It’s how Apple reports 100%. Often it’s not actually 100%. Completely normal. It’s been doing this since the 6+ days. :).

Ha ok. So it's normal that i may never hit 100% on coconut ? Even if i let it charge for hours ?
It's still at 98. something....

Depends on the charger you're using but - like you I've seen my phone sit at 98% for an HOUR while connected to a high end charger. Apple seems to be doing more and more on the back end to keep the battery from sitting at true 100%. (Phone shows 100% but coconutBattery shows 98%) I assume unchecking optimized charging will help it hit true 100% quicker but I always leave that on.

So to answer your question - my phone does the same thing so I'm assuming everyone elses does too.

Usually yes but i made a test with the optimization off and it was the same.
That's interesting - battery optimization on has been awful for me - battery starts dropping from 100% nearly instantly.
With it off, i can chill at 100% for 1-2 hours from pulling off (wireless) charger in the morning, depending on phone (11 Pro vs. 13 Pro).

No offense but what you're saying doesn't make sense. Battery optimization only controls when it reaches 100%. If your battery says it's at 100% it is at 100%. iOS battery calibration isn't affected by the Optimization feature. And if you need to calibrate the battery just drain it down to 0 till it shuts off and charge it backup to 100 and leave it untouched for another half hour or so to let it trickle charge.

After updating to 15.5. So far, so good. ??
Even though I've had a few erratic % numbers since late Sept., it still shows in 100-upper 102 range. Battery is still darn good, no horrible drain during the day.

And still so, SO much better than this time last year with a 6 month old 12 Pro Max, sitting at 87-86% battery health and it was still dropping. That battery on the 12 / 12 Pro's was pure trash for myself and others.

My iPhone 11 Pro Max is showing 91.9% (3646 of 3969 new) after 2.5 years...
(iOS 15.5)
[sorry this is for reference - not 13PM]

Yeah...since 15.5 and especially 15.6, the battery has taken a big hit. (Battery health on the iPhone now shows "94%") 😒

I know heat degrades the battery and it has been one brutally hot summer...but I've actually had minimal iPhone exposure to the heat outside. Ah well 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not seeing horrific drain however.

I believe I know the reason.
Believing and actually knowing are two different things.
My 13 Pro has double his cycles and it’s still hovering around 102%+. I charge with whatever I have at my disposal and often overnight with MagSafe 20W, 96W MBP or just plug into my 14” MBP regardless of how much battery left. And I almost never use 5W charger as it’s painfully slow.
If someone’s battery is degrading faster it could be either a dud or some other factor impacting the health if not the heat exposure.

My original status back in October for a launch day 13PM was:

Design capacity: 4352 mAh

Full Charge capacity: 4490 mAh

Cycle Count: 6

Coconut now reports it at:

Full Charge Capacity: 4493 mAh

Cycle Count: 150

I am running the current iOS16 public beta build and the capacity does fluctuate in that 4490+ range on down.

Some of us have better luck than others. I'm noticing that a lot of users who have battery history tend to have similar battery across phones too. So usage is definitely a factor.

My 13PM is going pretty strong.

I've been using this around 3-5 hours a day.

This is pretty normal usage history for me across all my phones. This is the first phone since my 8+ that I will intend keep for 2+ years.

Battery Health on iPhone 13 Pro Max shows 90%
(Been showing "90%" since late Nov. - It went from 91% to 90% in 17 days. No idea is 16.2 "improved" this from degrading faster...beats me.)

Anyway, I stopped checking this obsessively.

Back over the Summer it felt perfectly fine, no horrible drain even though the health in Coconut shows erratic % from mid to low 90s.

I am noticing a slight decrease now though with the phone showing an actual 90%. Nothing horrific however.

Bizarre. As soon as it showed on my iPhone 13 PM 90% back in late Dec...ugh..., it's been holding at this % health. That number was dropping 1-2% every 12-15 days. I wasn't going to obsess over it.

STILL on March 12, it's 90% (Coconut shows this really hasn't changed also), but it sure does NOT feel like 90% when I use this, the super fast battery drain is noticeable now.
