Having both secure face unlocking and touch authentication makes things complicated. There are devices that offer both touch authentication and face unlocking, but in those cases I wouldn't call the face unlocking secure but more a convenience feature.

I thought about this when my 14 pro was stolen.
There’s asus ROG for performance & battery. The pixel for camera and (surprise!) software, and Samsung for everything else.
I ended up re-purchasing the 14 pro. A few more years And Android will be as smooth as iOS.

I don't think less spam calls on iPhone is a thing.
I get them on both iPhone and Android.

Getting spam and robo calls happens to plenty iOS users I know as well and is not related to the operating system of your smartphone.

There’s no iPhone 14 Pro Max killer. It’s simply the best phone you can buy right now.

If you want best in class cameras and at least 24 months of software updates, that narrows it down to the last Pixel devices. They are pretty neat.

However, the most powerful SoC (the chipset) is still the A16, closely followed by the A15. Once Apple releases the A17, probably built on a 3mm process, the gap will be even wider. But I don’t think the Tensor chips are bad by any means. They are probably best in class among the Android devices.

You would’ve been able to do just fine with a Pixel 7 or Galaxy S22 until you asked this question.

No Android phone has “secure” face unlocking. They either have an RGB Camera based “face unlock” (which I have fooled on Pixels and other devices with compressed Facebook photos), or they DO have a comprehensive 3D face scanning suite…but they’re abandoned Chinese phones.

If you’re willing to give up a “secure” facial recognition feature, you will find many Androids meeting your requirements.

There are no current Android phones with secure face unlocking. The last one was the Pixel 4, and it's no longer supported. All face unlock features of Android is insecure 2D only.

So if you still want Android, cross off secure face unlocking from your list. With that out of the way, if you're in the US, I would get the Pixel 7 Pro. Seems like Google is doing a lot of the right stuff. The Pixel 7 lineup is the best new interpretation of Android and a smartphone without only focussing on specs

The runner up will be the S22 Ultra. It is basically everything you want on a spec list. OneUI also has more features than stock Android. Windows integration is also better than stock Android. It's the Android phone you want if you want to replicate some Apple-like "ecosystem". You might want to wait until early 2023 though as Samsung is close to releasing the new S23 lineup.

Other OEMs probably are not even contenders, especially at the flagship price levels.

Apple don’t control this, your network provider does. I sometimes get 3 scam calls a day on my iPhone and can’t report them anywhere because iOS doesn’t have this ability.

oh, I just went from a Kyocera flip 2001-2005 to an iPhone in July so i'm rusty
but
seems to me that just from what I hear an observe  does have a stronger protection system.
furthermore, I never give my # out even at a store were I did not accept the 10% off not to submit my #.
maybe that is a good way to be left alone?
