Hi everyone,

I have my 14 Pro Max since yesterday and there have already been multiple occasions where I had to tap the screen a 2nd time in order to wake the phone up. Anyone else also experiencing this?

Try turning on "Raise to wake" for a short time. I use it constantly now on my iPhone SE 2. Initially I though it would impact battery life a lot but it seems to make very little difference. With the extended battery life of the iPhone 14 you may not notice it at all.
If you don't like it, restart the phone then turn "Raise to wake" off. You may find this fixes the "Tap to wake issue".
Alternatively have a look at "Touch Accomodations" settings in Accessibilities.

Same here. It’s been going on since the iOS 16 beta for me. I’m on 16.1 beta now and still reporting it. Hopefully it gets ironed out. I know I haven’t seen too many complaints on here about it, but it’s happening.

14PM here, also.

👊🙂👍

Same. Also 14 PM. But it's rather rare and doesn't bother me that much yet. I think an iOS Update will fix this.

I can confirm that iOS 16.0.3 DOESN'T fix this issue unfortunately :(

My 2020 12.9 iPad Pro is doing this also since updating to iPad OS 16. It will randomly not respond to tap to wake at all and I must press the power button instead. Touch works fine after it’s on.

This starts getting quite frustrating, iOS 16.1.1 again didn't fix this

Hi,

Tap To Wake is still partially not working for me. I then always have to tap twice.

Let's see if it gets better with iOS 16.2.

I hope so, too. Most of the time, it works on the first tap for me but there are some instances where I have to tap twice. And there were 2 instances already where I had to tap 5-10 times even

Maybe it's hardware as this no longer happens on my replacement.
