Slow Horses was really good. It gets better each season.

Now I’m into Lessons in Chemistry. This really surprised me on the upside. Much better than I anticipated.

Loved iZombie... We could tell when the writers were given what appeared to us, a last minute, you have been renewed for another season! And the "oh sh*t" moment we have to come up with something lol.
Same here!! I was never interested in zombie shows (or so I thought) then I watched iZombie. Loved it so much since then I've binged every episode of the Walking Dead and all its sequels. Gone from one extreme to the other!!

Jack Ryan season 4. It was ok. I have a hard time considering John Krasinski as a serious actor. He had a lot of monologue in this season and frankly I found it hard to watch. lol

Still, all in all, a good season.

Agreed.

Just finished a Canadian show on Netflix called Runaway, Fuguese in French.

Pretty good and very heartbreaking. In a nutshell it is about the dark underside of how young people can get lured into porn and prostitution.

Just finished watching the latest season of Fargo on FX. May be #1 on my top 10 list. Great actors, totally novel plots and characters. Bloody, you never know who is going to die next in some very creative ways. Iconic images such as Frances McDormand and the wood chipper in the Season One episode. The smallest things can have huige significance, such as a biscuit in the last episode of this season. Don't know of any movie or series that had me on the edge of my seat as long due to the tension without any relief. Awsome diaglogue.

I am seeing that there is a show called "Sex before the Internet".
I cannot believe this. I cannot believe that there was sex before the internet. This must be some new conspiracy theory.

Tokyo Magnitude 8. I started watching last evening, planning to watch an episode a day. I ended up watching 6 episodes.🤫

Disaster shows tend to be eye candy garbage😒, but not this one.😲 The character design is rather poor. The storyline mundane--just people trying to get by, trying to get home, in the aftermath of a major earthquake. But the characters--gawd the character development is phenominal. I haven't watch anything that tugged at the heartstrings this much since Grave of the Fireflies.😢

I'll probably binge watch the rest of the series tonight.🤗

I finished FARGO, very disappointed by the new season. The finale outcome was so meh. However this was the best season after season 1. The first one I rewatched it again a few month ago and it is still amazing. If you like season 4 watch or rewatch the first, it is more absurd, funny and the music of Jeff Russo is fantastic.

I am starting the new season of True Detective, not sure how is the reception of this season but my first impressions are great. Let’s see how it unfolds.

wow!

I've enjoyed, really enjoyed, each season except for the 4th one.

This seasons finale wasn't the most action packed but I thought it was very satisfying.

We did try Mr & Mrs Smith. Treally ruly, we did.
We gave it about 20 minutes. There was no wit in the dialog, it was just tedious. I have had more enlightening conversations with my cat.

OTOH, we are watching Found, which explores the problem where the young, pretty, blond children who are kidnapped get all the media and police attention and the poor children of colour get ignored.

This is just so boooorrrrring. We made it through the first episode looking at each other asking when the comedy is to start as it is billed. Never happened. Lots of millennials all spending all their time looking at their smartphones with far too many of the now-obligatory shots of said phones totally unreadable at least on our 1080p TV and normal viewing distance. No human interactions to speak of, nothing that made me care in the slightest about any of the characters, little action despite the trailer, just a complete waste of our time watching it, and the memories as I write this. And the most egregious sin? Naming it to entice the many who watched and thoroughly enjoyed the Jolie-Pitt version of years ago. Shame on all involved, including us for not doing as you did and giving up after 20 minutes.

Dark... on Netflix.
Intelligent sci-fi, so not for everybody. Only 3 series long but does have a "proper" ending, unlike the religious drivel that Lost ended with.

I was just coming to mention Mr. & Mrs. Smith... to recommend it for the exact opposite reasons.

I found the dialogue to be nothing short of excellent. The wit and humour in it was subtle but I felt, definitely present. I think the point was to be understated and not use punchlines but rather engender a mild sense of discomfort whilst portraying a staid facade.

Glover was possibly the last person I expected to both act in and write a series like this. It seems so divorced from his other works and style. Maybe that's why it interested him? I think it's certainly a creative take with what appears to be a clear conceptualisation of something deeper going on in the narrative behind the simplicity of the setup.

Regardless, binged it in a day, enjoyed it and look forward to a second season.
