I don't know the heuristics on how they proceed, but the entire update process is going to take many months. If you want it, just grab it from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Delaying feature updates by only 90 (or 60?) days is enough for 1809 to be offered if Microsoft thinks it is OK.

It is safer to install only from Windows Update.

Maybe, but both of our computers got 1903 last month. Neither of them is a high end machine by any stretch of the imagination.
I guess because you're not delaying feature updates.

The power of the computer has nothing to do with it, just that there is something not quite right.

You are probably right. One thing I did to one computer was install a separate graphics card to get away from the intel graphics. I noticed that Intel graphics is/was one of the things on the "issues" list delaying the update.

Some software that is installed can also block updates.

They would seem better than Apple when a problem is known.

I think if you're on 1803, you'd better update to 1809 now if you don't want 1903 dumped on your computer.

1903 has been way more stable than 1809 for me and one of the more stable builds since insider program really. I was going steady on the windows insider route until 1809 hit and it was a clustermess, said im never doing the insider thing again and then they had to hit me with the light theme and I slapped my oldself and installed it from the beginning and it was already more stable than any 1809 build. One should feel lucky they get to skip 1809

So you trust that 1903 is already better than 1809?

2 people out of millions?
Millions really? Why do you ask when you already have your mind made up? Again, I couldn't care less if you update, you asked a question, I provided my opinion. Whether that opinion is the minority or majority is immaterial.

Do what you think is best, but you seem more intent on trying to argue then anything else. I'm sure if I said that 1903 was horrible, you'd take the opposite view point and push that millions swear by it, LOL

I don't know which one sucks more now, so 1809 seems like the safer path.

What's your point? The link you provide proves that Microsoft also still supports/updates/patches versions 1709 and 1803. Seems normal to me because there are lots of companies having the policy of delaying Windows updates. I can not determine from your link that Microsoft also has problems with version 1903 (as you stated in a post earlier).

As far as I know there where some minor problems with 1903:
- AMD Ryzen and Threadripper processor driver problem. Can be solved by installing the latest AMD driver.
- Sandbox problem.
These problems are already solved by MS.

Also I am not aware of any major problems with the 1903 update. If you Google you won't find any major problems with the 1903 version either.

So you can count me in as 3 people out of millions :p. Or is your 1903 opinion maybe 1 out of millions as well?

The link has nothing to do with the quality of 1903.

But there have been serious problems with it too.

You just can't trust Windows. If you find a non-catastrophic problem with 1809, just upgrade to 1903. How do go to 1809 from 1903 if you upgraded straight from 1803?

What where you trying to prove posting the link then?
The posts I read from you about this subject look like unfounded and biased, not backed up by facts.
My logical conclusion therefore is that Windows can be trusted more than your opinion.
