wow, my wrist is 180mm, and i was going to get the smaller watch. crap, i don’t know now.

yours bigger than mine (175mm) so I guess the 40mm may look comically small... Try them if can't buy them online so you can always send it back and get another.

I attached a photo of my 44mm around my wrist.. Took it in a dark so the photo quality isn't the best...

but if the series 3 larger watch is what most people get and now the series 4 40mm is similar in size i would think it would look normal. thanks for the photo. it looks perfect for you. i think i my just get the black stainless 44mm.

Hi, currently using 38mm Series 2 and thinking to upgrade to series 4. Should I pick 40mm or get the 44mm one? My wrist is approximately 170mm. I attached a photo of my wrist wearing 38mm Series 2

Hi. I am male and have a 170mm Wrist which seems to be pretty normal but not overly large.
I don't like huge watches in general so I bought the 40mm and after a week I am very happy with it! Of course a larger screen is always better to read but the 40mm is way more comfortable to me and I don't miss anything. I think the infograph watch face with lots of complications is a bit too much for the 40mm so I use utility with calendar and weather and that's perfect for me.

I was very unsure and got the imression that online most people lean towards the 44mm. That correlates with the trend to bigger watches in general. Which is okay if you like it.
But if you are not sure, don't be afraid of the smaller one, just buy what you like and what feels good.

i was just worried that on my 180mm wrist the small would be too small. i took a chance and got the latger one. hopefully i can pull it of. I am 6’2 and 235 pounds. I think it will work without it looking like I have a volkswagon on my wrist

I’ve a 160mm wrist and got to go to an Apple Store today. It was a bit of a toss up but I and the employee thought the 44mm was fine. So I think I will go for that!

How reliable is the dates shown on apple’s website for a watch being available at my local store? It says the one I want won’t be in stock till the 24th. I was hoping to pick one up sooner than that. Or does anyone know how fast a store will get stock in?

If I were you I'd reconsider especially with 160mm wrist but I'm biased since I switched to 40mm. Watch is way more comfortable smaller size and when I see people with 44mm it looks way too big.

I went to the Apple Store and tried on both. The 40mm fit my wrist (170mm) much better. The lugs of the 44 went slightly past the wrist bones which makes it too big for me.

I also have a 170 ... my wrist must be wider and thin versus narrow and thick. 44 looked better for me. It is really a personal choice.

I purchased my first AW a few weeks ago. I went with the 44 after trying both on at the Apple Store. The 40 made me look like I was wearing a kids watch. Amazing how big a 4mm difference looks.

Finally have a chance to try series 4 in store. Really want the 44mm one but looks too large for me.

The gold one is 40mm

Yeah - I think the 40mm is a better fit for you. How big is your wrist approximately? Mine is about 172mm and I'm still debating between the 40 and 44.... I had the 44mm but received a 40mm for xmas and am debating returning the larger... But the added real estate on the 44mm is so nice. It's a toss-up between the classier, minimalistic look and the modern "go big or go home" trend.....

Thoughts?

My wrist is approximately 170mm

Both looks fine IMO. I still prefer smaller watch. For me smaller Apple Watch looked like a regular watch than a smart watch.

Ordered me the 44mm one yday, coming from a 42mm S1, didnt try it on, but not fussed on how it’ll look in all honesty, personal preference on what we all want

I went 44mm and still waiting for it to arrive. I think the bigger the screen the better. I do have smallish wrists. Heck, how bad could it look compared to gigantic dive watches? I guess I'll see.

I am left wrist user. I may have to change to the right wrist if the watch crown spears my wrist bone. A youthful motorcycle accident years ago makes this lefty a little sensitive around the wrist area.

On the left is my 42mm Gen.1. On the right is a Diesel I bought in SFO in 2002.

This picture comparison makes me feel better about my shipping 44mm Gen. 4 regarding size. I have smallish wrists, but I want the extra screen. Heck, if I can wear this Diesel I think I can handle the 44mm.
