Hello guys

I’ve been contemplating sending my 40mm watch back but I’m not quite sure and wanted to hear y’all’s opinions ??? I don’t want to risk it sending back and the 44mm being too big on mine wrist (160mm)

To me this size looks perfect on your wrist size. I have 165 mm wrist and even I could have pulled off 40 mm, but at 160 mm I think the 40 mm is perfect. 44 mm does give you more real estate so go with whichever one you like.

I wear 40 mm with a 172 mm wrist. Never once have I thought the 40 mm looks too small.

I think 40 mm is a good height but the watch would ideally be 3 mm thinner. These Apple Watches are all just too thick.

OK just realized I made a mistake. Mine is 175 mm and not 165 mm. It is 7.2 inches which I incorrectly converted to 165 mm.

7.2 inches is 183 mm. 6.9 inches is 175 mm.

If I had a 183 mm wrist, I'd personally get a 44 mm Apple Watch actually. However, with my 172 mm wrist, I'm quite happy with my 40 mm Apple Watch.

I think the 40mm looks fine on you. 44 might be a bit large and bulky. Remember you have to wear this watch all day long to record activities and sleep. Sure, the 44mm has more real estate, but going to bed with a big watch is stressful.

And the 44 might cover your wrist completely.

Either way, it's a personal preference and you can't go wrong either way.

I really like the fact that my 44 is quite big on me because before Apple watch I was used to wearing men's mechanical watches. For me the look of a watch is just as important as the functionality. My wrist is 165mm and I've quickly exchanged the 40mm for the 44mm because I really didn't like the look of a small watch on my wrist. The more square 44 for me feels and looks more like a real watch. The 40 looks too rectangular for me.

The rule of thumb usually with watches is that you should see some wrist either side of the top and bottom of the face. However personal taste is also important and some people prefer big watches. Smart watches seem to have a different audience too. Its not uncommon to see women wearing men’s mechanical watches like the Rolex Submariner on their wrists. I personally am not a fan of big looking watches and with the Apple Watch I like it to look in proportion on my wrist. I have 165mm wrists which are quite skinny for a guy but the 44mm didn’t suit me at all. I’ve repeated my stance a few times in this thread but these soon get lost and the question repeats often so here it is again :)

I need some opinions. I don’t have any picture of me wearing the 40mm. I went into the store yesterday and tried them both on. The 40mm looked to small so I got the 44 SE. It looked great in the store and now I’m thinking it may be to big.

opinions welcomed please first two pictures are of the 44mm and the last picture is me wearing my 42 and The 44.

thank you!

The 44 mm looks a little big. It's not bad looking on you but I like the look of the smaller one a bit better.
Thanks. I’m still kinda undecided. Sometimes I feel like it’s not to big and other times I do. I might go to the store tomorrow to try on the smaller one again. I got chubby fingers tho so I feel like that weighs into my decision too

The 44 looks too big to me.

However, what I think shouldn’t matter much to you.
Thank you. Idk why but I kinda want other’s opinions.
It’s weird because sometimes I feel like it’s to big and other times I feel like it’s not. I do think some watch faces or apps you are in make it look bigger then it is. I have it on the smallest font too.

Put on a long sleeve dress shirt with buttoned cuffs and see how it fits.

So do you like the fit? What is your wrist circumference?

If you don't wear formal dress shirts with buttoned cuffs, then that shouldn't matter to you. I sometimes do wear such shirts, and my 40 mm just barely fits. Very tight fit. My wrist circumference is 172 mm.

The problem with all of these Watches is that they are just too thick IMO.

Both sizes really do look fine on you. Maybe a different type of band might help you like one more than the other. I have the 40 mm myself and when I wear it with the sport band (which is really never because I think the sport band looks weird on me) I feel it looks huge on me, but when I put the sports loop on it I think it's perfect for me. You will figure it out after trying the different sizes on. Also I don't think your fingers look chubby LOL.

When I used this in the apple store my wrist was just in between 4 and 5.

my wrist size is about 6 inches.

Thanks. The other one is a 42 which is my old one.

I usually wear sport loop too and it’s my favorite band. I got the unity band from apple with my watch so I’m just trying to get some use out of it. I will go back to my sports band tomorrow

Really? That's tiny. No wonder I thought that Watch looks big on you. Both my wife and I have ~6.75" wrists (172 mm), and we both have 40 mm Watches, with no desire for anything bigger.*

*If Apple ever decided to release a new 42 mm model, I'd consider that esp. if they could reduce the thickness, but I have no interest in all in the 44 mm.
