That's really odd. The Turbo button was actually a brake, which was counterintuitively given a fancy name suggesting otherwise.

I meant to say it normally said 16 (iirc it had a 16 MHz CPU, I got the PC from a friend and don't quite remember) but when turbo was pressed, the machine slowed down considerably and the display said 8.

They mislabeled it even though the correct model is stated clearly on the case
I see this a lot when sellers with a lot of similar items reuse an earlier listing and forget to overwrite all of the previous details.

For the low price of $1,700 you can have a shredded 12-year old computer, what a deal

Do you think this is just a troll or is he really trying to sell that thing? I've never seen a Mac Pro trashed like that. Personally I wouldn't pay a single dime for it. Besides the in awful condition case you get NO memory and NO gpu – yippie! I like how the seller promotes the horrible condition as a feature. This really is a perfect example of an outrageous listing ...

As he should! Where I live you pay for the council to collect your rubbish. Why you'd pay anything at all for a piece of junk like that beats me entirely.

The only thing you could maybe save from that machine is the logic board but given the condition of the case I wouldn't count on it. There are probably components knocked off or cracks in the PCB or something like that. I'm a fellow Mac Pro 3,1 owner and it hurts to see that computer in such condition ... Some people clearly can't take care of their stuff.

I agree - I also have a 3,1 which works great and this is painful. What's weird is that the only way I can see a computer getting like that is if you were actively trying to destroy it, by bashing it with a hammer or throwing it down the stairs!

I think this fashionably distressed look is very NOW and would go marvellously with my ripped jeans and shabby chic furniture.

I've been trying to find a Moto Mod keyboard for a decent price for ages. They're a bit rare, and very expensive when I can find them. The last one I found was $350 US. Not paying that, but I will keep looking.
