Exactly. I really want the 12 pro maxSo basically you want a bigger, newer iPhone, but can‘t because they will cause you issues. Do I get that right?

Which has both OLED and Face ID unfortunatelyExactly. I really want the 12 pro max
Not really sure I follow. How could the ASP for Apple smartphones be that low if they had no iPhone in that price category? Right, you‘re throwing all Android makers in the mix that are barely making any money out of that business. And still we do not know how a bigger iPhone SE Plus would be marketed at - like the iPhone SE, just bigger? Reviewers are knocking the „old“ design everywhere, I can‘t see Apple possibly throwing another Touch ID design with 5.5 inches out there.
Okay Jon PSmartphone innovations have slowed down - there are fewer people buying $999 smartphones. Apple has to make up the revenue and margins elsewhere. They need to increase the sales volume of low-cost iPhones. A single $399 iPhone SE2 isn't enough to do the job. Apple needs an SE2 Plus to fill the global mainstream demand for low-cost and large display. Ideally, Apple would like to sell the XR for $499 or $449 but it was never designed for such low prices. The SE2 Plus can be. The SE3 Plus scheduled for 2H21 will be an even more refined design (no Home button, side Touch ID).
I look at it like the iPad Air vs iPad Pro 11” situation. You can spend $800 for the top of the line modern device with all the best features, Face ID, more RAM, bezel-less design, etc, or you can spend $500 for the older design, less features, no Liquid Retina display, less RAM, TouchID, etc. They share the same A13 chip and general capabilities, but appeal to two different crowds.Let me rephrase: If we would get an iPhone SE Plus now that does almost exactly the same like an iPhone 11, costs more than an iPhone SE and less than the iPhone 11 - which problem would that solve?
Yep. Not sure what I’m supposed to do.Which has both OLED and Face ID unfortunately
What about people like me (and others on here) who somehow got headaches from the 11 or xr. I know you believe it’s due to the lower ppi, but I’m not so sure. The SE Plus will solve the multi-year problem of their crappy OLED screens messing with millions of people's eyes.
My guess- it'll be here within a year. (and I'll finally upgrade my 6 Plus) also it will have 1GB more ram than the 8 Plus and either the A13 or A14 chip. Either will be fine.
Isn't the rumour now that the 2021 SE Plus will be a budget hybrid iphone 11? So likely not 1080p 401ppi display.I look at it like the iPad Air vs iPad Pro 11” situation. Now look at the hypothetical SE Plus vs the iPhone 11, it’s nearly the same situation. $500 for the less modern device with less RAM, no Liquid Retina, TouchID, old form factor with TouchID, etc.
Personally, I’d prefer the SE Plus over the 11 because I appreciate the 401PPI vs 326PPI, the slightly wider screen, and lower price point. I’m also one of the people who can’t use the 11 due to eye strain, but that’s a separate point.
Yeah, my post was mostly based on the theoretical SE Plus just being the 8+ with updated specs & a lower price point. If it ends up as some kind of hybrid of 8+/11, then it’s a different situation. I’m personally hoping for the 8+ form factor with updated specs, I don’t really like the 11‘s body.Isn't the rumour now that the 2021 SE Plus will be a budget hybrid iphone 11? An iPhone SE Plus makes no sense - you would lose the single selling point of pocketable size. So my money is on that iPhone SE Plus being the actual iPhone 12 standard model. Let's wait and see.
Cancelled my amazon order for my battery case because I found the same one for $21 shipped on eBay, and it will be here on the 30th instead of a week later due to amazon not sending things out quickly if they are not deemed essential. I am all in on waiting for the se plus or just going to ride this 8+ out and hope something comes along.

They are saying no SE plus until near end of 2021
Try to be a bit more specific. Who is they? And then if you have a link/article. If the SE Plus does launch, I suspect second quarter of 2021, Where it has its own launch away from Apples top-tiered iPhones.
Kuo is stating so and jon Prosser has stated it will be 2021 as well and will have the same A13 chip.
Again, You’re not being specific. Prosser Originally stated quarter one of 2021 to begin with. Kuo Stated/iterated it would be later in the second half of 2021.
“Prosser states that “multiple sources” pin the larger SE model to Q1 next year and confirm.”
