try that :
sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/LockedApp.app

where /Applications/LockedApp.app - is way to your app

What does essentially do? I'm curious as some apps since the first beta won't run and this or something similar has been suggested as a possible solution. The error code suggests invalid signatures and running the core (in package contents) via Terminal brings up "Killed: 9". Searching for the specific error code has been maddening (I posted a thread seeking help, I'll link to it or post the specific error code when I'm home).

I've always disabled SIP and allow apps from anywhere to run/install (and of course take the necessary precautions).

Symptom

Hogging of the CPU by kernel_task

Workarounds

Sometimes worked around by a safe boot followed by a normal boot, but the positive effect was rarely (or never) long-lasting.

Diagnosis

Not attempted. With the new Console, I could not get what was required.

Environment

MacBookPro8,2 with 4 GB memory, booting from a hard disk drive on USB 2.0.

Comparisons

Earlier versions of Mac OS X, on the same disk, rarely or never present the problem.

Had the same problem starting with El Capitan.

This fixed my problem, no more high CPU usage with the kernel_task process.

Is anyone having an issue in Safari where pressing Control Click then holding Command, "Search with Google" is opening the page in a new tab, but also switching to that tab even though the option for it to do so is not selected?

It doesn't do this with links, only "search with google." I can't recall this happening with El Capitan.

@iLog.Genius thanks, I'll leave the OS as it is. Apple should address the problem.

Doubt they'll get to it because it's been an issue since Yosemite as far as I know but I've only encountered it with El Capitan. Fortunately, the method I posted is completed non-destructive so you can move that file and see if it cures the problem and if doesn't you can move it back. It's something worth considering or trying because that high CPU is definitely an annoyance when your machine or task suddenly decides to slow down for an unknown reason other than seeing kernel_task taking up all the CPU resources.

@iLog.Genius thanks again. I don't doubt the potential goodness of the workaround, I just don't need it.

(My testing of Apple's operating system was just for fun, some of it coincided with a few weeks when I couldn't use my preferred platform. Killing time.)

So I can't get flash to work in Chrome. It'll work in Safari though. I've tried to update and everything but no dice.

Thoughts?

Anyone have sound skipping problem? Just noticed today when playing music in iTunes, YouTube, Google Play.

Update - OK all the issues are related being connected to HDMI. When I use my USB DAC or built in speakers, sound is fine. Sierra hates my HP Envy 32. Anyone else have issues when connected through HDMI?

Not here (2012 MacMini -> Pioneer SC-25 receiver via HDMI). No issues with iTunes, Netflix/Safari or Kodi playback.

I think the AKiTiO may have trouble near maximum PCIe power.

I will have to check AGPM.

When it comes to handoff and continuity, both my iPhone and my Mac freezes/halts for a second while it's pasting. It can definitely be improved.

http://blog.viktorpetersson.com/post/136535061619/how-to-fix-kerneltask-cpu-usage-on-el-capitan

The problem I have is that my CPU runs very hot- so hot they shut the iMac down and give recurring 3 beeps. It is NOT a RAM problem. It will start right back up, and if I boot into Snow Leopard it runs normally. I installed Macs Fan Control in order to monitor and control my fans. I have the CPU fan now all the way up (2100 rpm). When I'm working, it keeps the cores down to 120-135 degrees. But when my Mac is idle, those numbers go way up. Here's why: After studying Activity Monitor, I found that the culprit seems to be Photos. That app is NOT ready, gold master or not! The process is photoanalysisID and what Photos is doing is scanning my 10,000 photos in order to organize them by People. It's a great feature. The only problem is, it overdrives the CPU. According to Activity Monitor, it uses up to 170%. No wonder they get hot! Currently, about half of my photos have been analyzed and organized by the person- correctly. My plan at the moment is to just let it cool down for a few minutes and restart as many times as it takes to let that process finally finish. I can quit the process- and the temps go down, so I know that is the culprit. But as soon as my Mac is idle once more, it resumes the scan, and the whole process repeats itself. After this initial 10k batch, it shouldn't have to scan for very long at all, so this will hopefully become a non-issue; but Apple needs to fix this over-drive situation! Since this is the Gold master, it will probably affect many others before Apple comes up with a 10.12.1 version to fix it.

I of course have an El Capitan clone through SuperDuper, but cannot force my Mac to boot to it (!) Before I go to all the trouble of transferring everything back to the internal boot drive, I'd like to start up my Mac into El Capitan via my El Capitan partition. But no matter what I do, that system either doesn't show up at all at startup (option key) or if I select it through the Startup Disk preference, OS X ignores it and boots to Snow Leopard instead. This is driving me nuts, and I could use some suggestions! Thanks.

Have they removed moving items in finder by holding CMD and dragging the item? Now when I highlight the item and try and move it while holding CMD it just unhilights and doesn't move.

Not sure how you're getting that result. Still works the same on my Macs.
Strange, thought it would be a bug as it's such a common thing to do. Reported during the beta but never heard anything back.

I'll try and reset Finder, see if that helps.

For 10.12, you have to use the CoreDisplay patcher and it matches, but Radeon is not supported yet.

SUCCESS!

4K@60Hz running on 17" Early 2011 MBP via Gigabyte RX 460 eGPU

All you need to do is define a custom resolution in SwitchResX.

I had bought this years ago to run a Mitsubishi 21" 1600x1200 CRT with my Cube.

It is much easier now with digital. All I had to do was set 60Hz and accept the recalculated values.
[doublepost=1473621893][/doublepost]
Youtube and Netflix seem to be doing the decoding on the CPU.

This should not be good going through Thunderbolt 1.

Youtube 4K@60Hz seems to be stuttering in full screen sending decoded video through TB1, as expected.

The Netflix CPU load is a lot less than Youtube's. It looks like it is streaming low resolution.

Netflix content available in 4K looks a lot better directly streamed by the TV.

Confirmed, same issue. Logged out of iCloud account, rebooted, and logged back into iCloud... thought issue was resolved, but it was not after further looking.

Exactly the same for me even with the GM. Frustrating. I haven't had photos update since August 25. It works fine on my iMac running El Capitan (of course)

I seem to have a problem with sierra, in that under accessibility, mouse / track pad, the ignore trackpad is check, but my trackpad still works when I have a mouse connected. deselecting the option then reselecting the option disables the trackpad when the mouse is connected. As soon as I reboot or startup the Mac the same issue happens, where I have to go under accessibility mouse / track pad and deselect, reselect to have the trackpad disabled when the mouse is connected.

I have an Apple wireless mouse.

Any idea on this issue?
My MBP does exactly this too. Every time I have to uncheck and recheck upon restarting.

Anyone else encountering issues with full screen apps and switching between them with four finger swiping enabled? It won't work for me. In fact, what it does is go to the previous page as it I was doing two fingers.

Anyone else having issues shutting down and restarting? I updated to the GM release assuming everything would be production ready but since then it just hang on a black screen when I try to shutdown/restart. After I turn it off by holding the power down it will then go through a weird little process of asking me if I want to reopen windows from last time for about 2 seconds, then the screen will go black again and then about 8 seconds later it shows the same option and I can actually pick it this time.

Booting into safe mode is fine and it will happily shut down / restart from there. I've reset PRAM, SMC and removed all login items. I've tried restarting as soon as I boot into macOS to make sure it isn't a program I'm using thats causing it.

Any ideas guys?
