That new 24 inch one must have an extra RAM slot. It goes up to 3GB max RAM.

When you go to purchase it only has the 17" and the 20" for the old price.
Yeah they haven't updated the prices in the education store yet...they have the advertisement, but only options for 17 and 20in.

Man I want one....ahhhhhhhhhhh!

This means that the product to be introduced next week at the media event has to be amazing if they got this out of the way.

OMG! The most exciting thing is that the VESA wall-mounting option is back :) This is why I've kept my G5s so far. And the 24" only weighs 11kg which is about the same as my old 20" one.

I am SO tempted to order one right now!

Just went to the Apple website to check and see if the QuickTime plugin was working in Firefox Beta 2 and seen that and had to do a double take! Man, this is awesome.

24" iMac, speed-bumped Mac minis, too. 1.66 Core Duo is now only $549! 1.83 for $749!!

The 24" display looks like a quality panel - 178 degrees up/down, left/right, 400cd/m, 700:1 contrast...

Need to see one in person now!

What a nice thing to wake up to. :)

Hi everone! I just registered as a user here at macrumors, but I've been gong to the site constantly for the past year or so (and even more in the past two months due to the Merom in the Macbook Pro predictions). Thank you to all of you people who put in your two cents every day!

:D

Very decent price, especially with the 7600GT. Only thing, though - what's up with the only memory config that isn't dual channel being the most expensive?

Site's fully functional now with option to buy, ship in 1-2 days.

Edit - My local store doesn't have 'em. I just placed my online order for the $1099 17" model (edu pricing). The $899 model was appealing, but I thought the graphics card, extra 512MB RAM, Bluetooth, Super drive, and processor bump were collectively worth the extra $200. Wonder if they will add the free iPod option later?

Well this sucks . . . I just bought my iMac back in April! Once I heard that the Core 2's were out, I knew Apple would upgrade ASAP. I just knew it. :(
But your iMac is just as good now as it was yesterday and still faster than my iMac G5. What's the problem? :)
