I don’t love smart watches, and I doubt that the Pixel Watch will change that opinion.

Depending on the price though, I may pick one up if I end up ordering a 7 Pro. I guess a lot depends on trade in offers for the 6.

Apple can afford to raise prices because of brand awareness. Google OTOH is trying to grow its business.

Apple hasn't been raising U.S. prices either. The iPhone 14 starting price is the same as the iPhone 13 and 12 were. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max starting prices are the same as those going back to the 11 Pro and Pro Max. Some prices have even dropped e.g., 256GB and 512GB iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models are $50 cheaper than comparable storage size 11 Pro and Pro Max models were back in 2019.

I’ve decided this year I’m going to buy a Pixel 7 exclusively for taking pictures, maybe I’ll use it for more stuff depending on how much I like modern android.

I’ve been using my 14 Pro Max for a week but the camera is a very disappointing vs the Pixel range. Notice how I didn’t say Pixel 6, I said the Pixel range in general because even Pixels from several years ago do a better job than iPhone in many key areas for still photography. The iPhone sub forum tries to gaslight themselves into thinking the iPhone 14 Pro is better than last years Pixel 6 so I asked them to compare photos from each phone that I sourced via the Toms Guide review. They ALL preferred the iPhone… except I intentionally mislabeled the photos! Every single person that thought they were voting iPhone actually voted for the Pixel without knowing. For me this proves I’m not actually crazy: Pixel CLEARS iPhone in 95% of point and shoot scenarios and most people saying otherwise are not being honest with themselves. I refuse to believe otherwise because the quality gap is so obvious to my eyes.

Colors, dynamic range, contrast, and detail are all better on pixel. Overall when I look at a pixel photo I feel like I want to be there. When I look at an iPhone photo all I see is the color grey, it screams “mobile phone photo” with a limited color range. All the photo comparisons I’m coming across could easily pass as a “iPhone 6 vs iPhone 14 Pro” comparison because of the massive disparities. If I still had my 13 Pro Max I would keep it and return the 14 Pro Max.

I’m very excited to see what Pixel have up their sleeves this year for their image processing.
I love my 14 pro max and as the camera it is still one of the best on the market as an overall camera system such as macro, quick shutter speed, amazing video and does well in general day to day photos in good lighting. Where pixel beats it and badly is with skin tones, doesn't crush blacks or shadows like the iphone and doesn't blow out the sky and overall HDR. All areas even the 14 pro max really struggles with.

I plan to get pixel 7 pro as my work phone but also for photos as well

Anyone know what the tend to offer on trade in values for last years' phones? I have kept a Pixel 6 with hopes of trading it in towards a 7 Pro.

On a side note, fired up the Pixel 6 for the first time in awhile to install Android 13. I've unplugged 2 hours ago with minimal usage and dropped 20% battery. Yikes. It wasn't this bad on 12 for sure. Hopefully the battery is improved on the 7 phones.

Usually the trade in offers from Google are poor. But, the ones for the 6a, were better than usual. So hoping google steps up this year and really pushes the 7.

Amercia often gets pretty good trade in's from what I see on here.
I'm wondering what the UK will do as I still have my 6 Pro ready to trade in too. I'm hoping for £400 minimum. Anything more would be a bonus.

Any thoughts on colour choices?
Hazel for me 😎

Hazel definitely looks nice. I'll probably go with that too.

Lots of Google Watch product photos have leaked.
Looks like a selection of bands to choose from. Hopefully nowhere near the extortionate prices Apple charge for theirs.

Likely also will be a day 1 purchase 🙂
Just depends if Google can get their **** together with the store. Last year was an absolute joke.

£320 for now. It is for 128GB.

Trade in price is unbelievably low.

not great but when you consider what it costs full retail price is £500 less for a year old phone which isn't that unrealistic.

I think in UK doing an annual upgrade might make the most sense for pixel’s given the value after 12 months.

Me too Aneres. The trade-in price is horrible. Gotta come up with strategy to grab a watch.
Are you all in with the 7 and Watch combo then?
The Watch looks decent enough to me. I like the simple design. Reminds me of the older Samsung watches which were similar.

I like the fact that watch looks very simple. And I am using authenticator 2FA a lot and watch will make life easier

Hoping Quandt's rumor of free Pixel watch for P7Pro is true for UK.
Just hoping either trade-in price will be good or to wait for those who will sell back watch after P7P pre order.
I am not very sure whether to let go off P6pro as it is still a great working horse.

This year focus will be on watch tho. It will be a plus if trade-in price is good.

Is it all depending on Google itself or the the company they use for trade-in?

Not a lot of people will be happy if the price been slashing less than half of its retail price.

Got the T-mobile pixel pro 6 for $399. Hopefully will be able to purchase the pixel pro 7 at the same price sometime next year around this time
