Ok thanks. Looks like on the basis of the existing Apple care having expired by more than 30 days I can get a fresh Apple Care / Care + unless I have missed something?

Here is my S5 in question. So many people west Apple Watches, this really does turn heads….

I am going on my 2nd year with my Series 7 SBTi, like it a lot. Was wondering how long before the battery becomes intolerable. Mad that Apple has stopped making the Edition watches anymore. After a year my battery Health still says 100% so looks like I will be wearing for years to come before needing a new battery.

I don’t think you missed anything.
I had an iPad 12.9 replaced with 3 days left on Apple care. While loading at a few things after loading up the replacement the Apple care offer was there. Honestly thought it was a mistake but clicked on it anyway.
Got proof of monthly coverage. Much cheaper than buying new.

There wasn’t too much publicity around the changes.
When I went to get the ultra she specialist mentioned the program had changed.
My friend works at a store back east and confirmed the changes.
While setting up the ultra another specialist did the double take on my S5 ceramic and mentioned it may be eligible for an Apple care renewal. She walked me through the process.

Just had my S2 White Ceramic for battery replacement at Apple Store just before Apple mark S2 as obsolete and no longer service them.
Turned out I’ll receive a brand new S3 White ceramic instead.

That’s a very good deal for $79

That's a great result. Really hope they have enough of these gorgeous watches as replacements for years to come.

How were you able to verify if you were eligible for renewal?

If anyone is looking to purchase a Series 5 Ceramic 44mm Watch, there is a reputable seller on Mercari selling a watch with just a plain white sport band for $525, just thought I would let everyone know in case if someone is serious about purchasing one.
(No it’s not mine, I’m keeping mine…🤣🤣)

Thanks. Unfortunately no such option or luck for me. Wonder what, if any, circumstances qualify an individual for a renewal for expired coverage.
You can only renew Apple care+ within 1 month from the date your AppleCare+ expires. The warranty becomes a monthly paid service only and does not expire until you cancel it. Once cancelled you cannot get AppleCare+ for it again.

I finally get to join the club :D

IMG_0388.jpeg

After years of stalking ebay I finally scored a 40mm for a decent price. This has been my dream watch since they came out but couldn't afford one then and wasn't willing to pay a grand for it used, but I found a seller named Tekreplay who had several for sale for $450. I assumed there'd be something wrong with it at that price but bought it anyway since I could just return it if it was bad. It looks brand new and works great, I'm so geeked 🤓 The battery is at 85% and doesn't last too long, though that could be partially b/c I just now set it up & updated it. I'll give it a few days to settle, but if everyone in this thread is right then I might try getting a replacement through Apple.

Do I have better odds by going in-store or mailing it in? I have 3 stores nearby and would prefer that option, I'm a nervous wreck anytime I have to mail anything valuable but I'll do it if I have to.

The S5 ceramic I bought used eventually dropped to 78% battery and was giving a warning about getting serviced. It had a month left on Applecare and they sent it in and I had a replacement watch delivered to my door 4-5 days later with 100% battery health.

Congrats! Absolutely the most beautiful of them all, enjoy it 👌🏻🤩

I set up a service case online and mailed mine in (no AC+) for battery service at 85% max capacity and got it replaced for the standard battery replacement fee without any problem and in just two days.
Apple sent me a box to send it in, so no real trouble on my end to get it done.
I suspect that, over 80%, your chances are higher when mailing it in probably.

Sweet, thank you!

It really is a thing of beauty, I really wish they'd bring back the ceramic. I kinda feel like a dork cause I know it's just an apple watch, but man.... it just feels so great to finally get the silly little thing you've wanted so bad for so long. I don't even care that it's 3 gens old lol.
