Speck presidio 2 grip and ringke onyx. I usually end up with a bunch of cases, but this time I’m telling myself I won’t do that. 🤥

Honestly, I’m planning to use my Pro Max for the first time completely naked since it just looks so sexy. Of course Apple Care insurance will be mandatory.

Ordered a FineWoven Black and preordered RyanLondon. Despite the almost laminate-thin leather Apple used these last years, I always liked that case – not too thick, good protection, good MagSafe magnets, it just worked and aged okay-ish. I had one other case, from HardGraft, which had such weak magnets that it basically jumped off my MagSafe-DashMount. I hope the RL has better magnets – there should be more info on the neodym strength in the specs.

The fuss over Finewoven is absurd, imo. Shock horror! A case that isn't leather doesn't feel like leather!

Leather junkies have plenty of third party cases to enjoy. I think the Finewoven colours look fantastic, and if the case endures a bit of damage, isn't that to be expected? Because, um, IT'S A CASE!! That's precisely what it's there for - to protect the phone.
Hilarious every year watching people try to justify their purchases. Finewoven durability sucks, it’s not a subjective thing — if you want to buy something for $60 that essentially falls apart and will look like crap then that’s your choice.

I ordered a nomad rugged for my 15PM. Had my eye on one for my 14 for a while didn’t pull the trigger because i knew the 15 was close. Had been using a otter box commuter on my 14PM for the last year. Was a good case but no MagSafe.

I think it is a bold move that Apple did this year and in theory a good one. Going vegan and going green without just greenwashing the brand would be welcome...meanwhile I am not so sure if replacing a natural material like leather with plastic is absolutely as sustainable as people think it is. It would be more sustainable if the case form factor would not change every year, and 100% recycled material would be welcome as well. Leather, if procured and used right, is a superbly long-lasting material, maybe wasted on a phone-case that will be obsolete within a few years. Considering the fact that I have a working briefcase from the 1920s I think leather could be a better choice than poly-somethings that end up as waste in our oceans and bodies. With that in mind, I look forward to discovering how Apple tries to solve the eco-friendly approach to protecting their products. I think so far Native Union did a good job with their Coronet-Yatay-based materials. https://www.nativeunion.com/products/reclassic-case-for-iphone-15

My go-to case has always been the Apple white silicone. No white Apple so Amazon for the purchase.

I'm using a peel case right now on my 12pro. Contemplating getting one for my 15pro max. But what I want to know is if anyone has any experience or feedback on those pitaka cases and how gripy they are.

Usually use no case but when I’m out cycling it helps to have a bank card with me so I then use a Snakehive. Been using them for years, great quality

I want the FineWoven cases to work well. It’d be a good example of moving more into recycleable materials. These will definitely have different aging characteristics to leather, and we should treat it differently.

If you really want leather, there are many alternatives.

Went with this (I assume) Chinese brand Alphex case I saw on Amazon. Looked like it would match my Titanium Blue phone pretty well plus it’s got the kickstand and MagSafe so I think I’ll like it well enough.

Also have a Spigen screen protector on the way.

(Man I hope FineWoven feels better than the iPad Pro Keyboard Folio stuff did....)

What amazes me is that quite a lot of people commenting on FW consider it not a move to «go green» but rather a cost-cutting measure. I've yet to see proof of that, but it's not good for a brand like Apple when people feel that way about product decisions... it feels like Apple has made so many cost-optimizing moves in the last years that even the evangelists start to lose trust in the brand.
