Rollercoaster of emotions here

CarPlay now also accepts keyboard input in Maps when searching.

First I thought, "holy crap, that's a great addition"

That also is not new. Pre iOS 13, you would access that by clicking the little microphone symbol (ironically enough).

Then I was like, "holy crap, that's been there that whole time and I never tapped because it's a freaking microphone and I know it won't understand me"

Exactly me. I wish I knew that before.

Lyrics scroll in real time while playing music
Apple Music only. And Many desktop music players have achieved this long time ago via timestamp tag like this:
[00:00:45]Where we live like angel
[00:01:23]The sky is clear. The dream is pretty
[00:01:54]The bright future seems closer than before
I think this is new: when restoring your phone, you can prioritize which apps download first.

Not new. Existed in iOS 10 as mentioned before.
Here’s another new one: recommendations on where you can offload apps to reduce storage.

Again, not new. Existed in iOS 11 and iOS 12.

Assuming the little circle next to icloud photos represents a % of space you could reclaim... that would be new?

Also, the screenshot doesn't show anything about apps like @gwhizkids actually wrote. I wonder if its the wrong picture - if iOS 13 suggested offloading specific apps that would be new.

No. Even that is not new. Been in iOS 11 and 12 already.
And Apple Just give user one switch to turn on automatic offload. No specific app offload. And, given how nowadays app size is smaller and smaller, I find myself getting rid of photos and Apple TV videos make more sense than offloading apps.

Yeah, I was not super clear there: I was really referring to the recommendation to offload the photos. I’d never seen that before. I did know about the system automatically offloading apps, both due to lack of use and overcrowding.

Wow. I never found that.

Now here’s some I know are new as I just watched them in the WWDC session on CarPlay! Red and yellow comments are my notes on what they were saying.

Yes those are true. Siri is a lot less of a pain in the butt. I like the new icons too instead of the “cancel” and “send” text. The tap targets, while probably the same, look larger and easier to hit.

Saving Facebook to Home screen in Safari creates an actual dedicated page outside of Safari. This is great since I ditched the FB app years ago I would often have several FB open by the end of the day

Im sure that’s been there for years, unless there’s something different?

With which languages does the swipe feature work with?

According to the Apple website...

QuickPath language support
Support for English, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, German, French, Italian, and Portuguese is now included.

Source: https://www.apple.com/ipados/ipados-preview/features/

Unfortunately the QuickPath swipe feature is only available on the small floating keyboard and not on the full sized keyboard.

It does not appear to work with 1st Gen AirPods, as I do not have the option (on an XS, just installed the beta today).
(Preparing for someone else to chime in with a report that it does work with their 1st gens.)
According to Apples website this is only available for 2nd gen AirPods :(

The biggest issue for me with iPad is the background timeout as I use a terminal/ssh client constantly but if I leave it for longer than 3 minutes it kills my connection.

Anyone know if iOS 13 allows a longer timeout?

Not sure if iOS13 will do anything about that. On servers I control I use Mosh and the Blink shell app. Add tmux to the mix and you are in iPad SSH heaven. Does take a bit of reading and configuring to get there though.
