I have a whole separate bag for my ipad which looks something like this.

messenger-leather-crossbody-ipad-bag-1_large.jpg

Its hard to carry it in sleeve no matter how hard the sleeve is. This one is already shaped in the ipad so its easier and better.

The extra weight on the 11” would still matter as it’s all relative. Personally I want things as light as possible.
It is great for travel, the weight seems to translate into extra stiffness, but thanks to the magnet-ease I take it out of the case when I'm at home.

I wish it has more/better magnets so it would do something like the infinite angle trick of the new G Slate. Would love a (non keyboard) case like that. Trifold doesn't ever seem to get the right angle for me personally.

I got the Fintie PU leather cover for $18. There is a sleeve on the back for the pencil. There is no side protection for this model and I like it that way for easy removal. They have another model similar to this and that one offers side protection. It weighs an ounce but feels heavier once attached to the iPad, and it is noticeably heavier than the basic Apple folio. The edges are softer compared to Apple’s folio, and the PU leather has a nice texture. Due to the additional padding on the back to accommodate the pencil, it is expected that the cover will not be completely flat when folded back, even when the pencil is not in its sleeve. The interior lining is soft but feels kind of thin and scratchy, it is not as snugly soft as the lining in Apple’s folio.

I like the sleeve for the pencil and the price is great, but overall, the Apple folio is better at everything else.

This could be another option for pencil users. Looks like the compartment for the pencil allows charging.

Colours other than black look really good too, for a change...

I've used this brand for iPhone cases in the past & was impressed with their quality.

That's what many of us like - plain design with no Apple logo. Don't want others knowing we have something worth stealing..
This is the case I just ordered. I was leaning towards the ASK but I just didn't really like how the keys would be on the back when holding it. I also like how this one has a spot for the pencil that allows it to charge but also looks like it holds it in place. And it actually has full coverage all the way around. Went with the blue, looks really clean and couldn't beat $40.

Ipad/pencil is supposed to come in Thursday and that case is getting delivered anywhere from 20th-26th. I hope sooner rather than later. I also grabbed these screen protectors because I heard the matte ones were generally a better experience to write on than the clear ones.

Just received my Carl Friedrik dark brown leather sleeve.

It feels, looks and smells lush!

It’s very tight now and I just barely squeezed the iPad Pro into it without the keyboard.

Hopefully it’ll loosen over time and I’ll be able to fit my keyboard folio in it as well.

Groan. That leather smells lush through the Internet.

Give us an update in a day or two; I suspect that's going to be a keeper. (And now that I have the P&Q, something I probably don't need.)

Just got the case in and am really liking it. Full coverage around all edges and the spot for the pencil that still allows charging. I'm not a fan of alot of the pleather looking cases out there. I went with the blue which I really like. Not much added weight at all. Would definitely recommend.

I was actually previously set on the ASK but it looks pretty plain and I didn't think I'd like the keyboard on the back when holding it. Plus no edge coverage. Ending up going with the above mentioned case and the pencil and have been really happy after seeing not awesome reviews on the ASK. Plus I see a bunch of keyboard cases running like 30-$40 I can grab if I ever decide I really want the keyboard.

Just received this folio from ESR for the iPad Pro 11

ESR Case for iPad Pro 11 inch 2018 Release, [Apple Pencil Compatible] Magnetic Smart Case, Trifold Stand Magnet Case, Magnetic Attachment, Auto Sleep/Wake, Rubberized Cover, Black https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07HQCDYTK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_s2ghCbMDEWZVX

It’s extremely light weight and the magnets are reasonably strong. The tri-fold stand works in both positions and sleep wake function works flawlessly.

Highly recommend as a cheap but quality alternative to the Apple Smart folio

Excellent.

Does it fold back flat?

Feel free to post photos. :D
