I wonder if RC2 of 17.1 included the fix. I had my first optimized charge last night on my launch day 15PM after installing the second RC.

I know you’ve already done this but turn all the “must have” tabs OFF and hard restart. Then go back and turn everything back ON

Last night I woke up around 3am , looked at my phone and saw that OBC had finally kicked in . Confirmed this morning when I looked at the chart in Battery.

So , it took exactly one month to start working !

My watch though hasn't yet but as I had re-paired it with my new phone end of September I am hoping it will kick in before the end of this month .

Glad to hear! I’ve NEVER been able to get the Series 8 to do it. Charge it every other night. Strangely enough my AirPods Pro does and and I only use those 1x, maybe 2x a week… lol

I’m glad all of yours are now working, but mine is still not. I even updated to 17.1 RC2 yesterday and still charged straight to 100%. I even followed Fantasigraphic’s instructions and didn’t help. Very inconsistent results.

My launch day iPhone 15 Pro Max finally started with the Optimized Charging, too. However, the charging pattern seemed a little odd. Looks like I actually lost some percentages when I put it on my MagSafe stand.

Sometimes it stopped working. The fix for me was just a reboot.

Curious question for those that wirelessly charge AND have optimization active…

Does it show a gap when hits 80% or does it show the “pause” sign when it hits 80%.

Here’s from the night I installed 17.1 when it came out, and used the cable to charge it and it shows the “pause” sign.

After installing 17.1RC2 it now shows a gap when I do wireless charging . Not sure if it’s still optimizing or back to square one or what…

Location services are ON, Significant locations are also ON.

My routine is very predictable too. On charge at 9:30 in the evening, alarm goes off at 5:30 in the morning every single day.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Even if it did work, it’s not going to do much to increase the battery’s lifespan. It only delays charging to 100% for a few hours.
It’s the charging to 100% that prematurely wears out the battery.

Most people of late posting it takes about a month. Give it another week and see. If it still hasn’t by then, turn those tabs OFF, Reboot phone, then turn them back ON. SOMETIMES that’ll help it kick in about a day or two

I have tried everything that anyone has mentioned on this forum and mine is still not optimizing. Launch day 15 PM with 17.1 RC2. I have now cleared the history in significant locations to see if that changes anything. We’ll see 🤷🏻‍♂️

Launch day 15 Pro here and always charge overnight and have an alarm set for the same time 4 days of the week, it finally started optimised charging last night. I did toggle it off, restarted and turned it back on again about two weeks ago, so not sure if that’s what kicked it into life, or like most people it’s just taken ages.

Got mine 9th October, Optimised Battery Charging kicked in last night.

Mine optimized for maybe two days and has not since. Hoping the update will get it going again. Phone optimizes fine but Ultra 2 still charges to 100% every night.

Installed iOS 17.1 yesterday and it started working. I use Standby at night.
