Here my iPhone X.
307 cycles and 88% Battery life. iOS beta 12
Charged mainly with 5w charger and since 1 month via usb C quick charge.

As you can see mine gets really warm ( also when phoning or sending voice messages battery gets to warm. Guess the phone needs to be replaced)

Same here.... still at 100%

6 months old and charged each night, wirelessly. Each day it’s normally taken down to 50% on average.

That's very interesting that you charged it wirelessly. I feel like this would go against conventional wisdom, especially considering the poster above who used the 5-watt charger which should stress the battery the least and cause the least heat. Which wireless charger did you use?

So... heat is good for iPhone batteries? lol.

Only occasionally charge via the iPad charger, 99% would be wireless

The charger is a non apple one, Mudder fast charge..

Mine says 97%, purchased in January and currently running iOS12 Beta.

I always fast charge using an Anker wall charger.

Degradegate

(Just kidding)

But is it possible some people are experiencing faster battery degradation because its actually two batteries in tandem?

The cascading battery designs generally degraded sooner on laptops too, right? (Air or the 12” MB or both, cant recall right now)

Launch day iPhone X 98% battery health. Charge it nightly, never had to charge at any other time.

So does battery degradation has any correlation with using wireless charging, higher wattage fast charging than the one that comes with iPhone?

I purchased my iPhone X on December and the battery health is down to 91%. I have never used wireless charging and use only Made for iPhone or original Apple chargers and cables. I know batteries degrade over time, but this doesn't seem normal to me.

I feel your pain. It would seem that the key is to use wireless charging and high output chargers! This coming from a guy who only used the 5 watt charger. Apparently heat is good for the battery! lol

I have a second hand X, so I have no idea how old it is and I'm still at 100%. I have a wireless charger and a 5 watt charger.

FYI to all... battery wear is not linear. …

My 8+ (old pic) - see attached - note design capacity.

As of 9/25/2018 - 168 cycles and 2735 mAh. Make sure to only take a reading when fully charged.

Could you please tell us how you charge (many little charges or like one full charge from 1%) and what you use to charge it?
10 or 12W iPad charger always overnight.

So here goes my story...
I start the day off with 100% charge and at the end of the day (10-11 pm) I’m usually down to around 30-40%. Never below that with my usage.
Some days I might have extreme usage (in car with gps/BT streaming and calls) but those times I put it on the carcharger (2.4A) regardless of what % I have left on the battery.

With that said, I would just keep on using the phone the way it suits you!
Batteries degrade over time, that is a fact, sure by adjusting usage you might be able to extend the life-span somewhat... but is it worth having the added stress trying to readjust to save on something that is unavoidable in the long run anyway.

Each to their own.

Mine is a launch day iPhone X - well technically I purchased 1 day after launch last year - and battery health is at 91%. I have never used, and likely will never use, wireless charging. However, I do not use the 5W charger that comes with the phone. I use a 12W iPad charger. I do turn my iPhone off during the majority of my workday though. Shrug.
