EDIT: ABBYY just released version 12.1.6 which fixes this problem.

i've been running crashplan successfully thru every public beta of sierra (altho needed to re-install the app a few times... including for the final sierra release). otherwise, i continue to backup without issue.

Yeah, sounds like they concur. Hopefully on their update, no re-installs needed. I have no need to update yet. So, may wait a couple weeks. I have CCC, CP, and pwSafe.

i just installed the 10.12.1 public beta, and crashplan is running fine (no reinstall needed).

I can import photos direct from the card via a sd card reader, but my camera does not show up at all. Tried both Canon & Sony cameras. Same in Image Capture App.
Answering my own question................
Canon 6D, WiFi must be "off" to enable connection to computer.
Sony USB must be set to "mass storage", not "Auto"
Go figure:)

For readers whose browser does not properly show the title in the title bar:

macOS Sierra 10.12: Compatible Apps

hangs at launch and spins with 100% CPU.

Compatible with both Apple Hanger and Apple Spinner, a great application.

failures unpacking the update.

Compatible with Apple Nonpacker, could be a unique selling point. Or maybe it's just using Apple's new Stalemate framework.

Macphun Aurora HDR waits forever if you select demo images , and crashes if you select a new image.
Our tech team is working on a hotfix for that. We're doing our best to release the update till the end of the week.
[doublepost=1474628569][/doublepost]
Macphun Aurora HDR does not work.
Sorry for that! The update with a fix will be released till the end of this week. Stay tuned for the news :)
[doublepost=1474628872][/doublepost]
I am on PB4.

Verifying that Chrome/Firefox work fine.

Libreoffice 5.2.0.4 works fine.

Thunderbird seems to have some issues like moving floating windows.

VLC 2.2.4 is working fine. No issues with control placements.

PS CC and LR CC are working fine.

McGimp 2.9.5 (my GIMP builds) are working fine. Since my builds include the plugins for the Nik Collection, they are working fine too.

Capture NX2 and View NX2 are working fine. Note that they were installed during Yosemite days and they are still going strong.

Finally, just checked to verify Macphun HDR Pro. Not working. Crashes after trying to load images.

Sorry for the issue with Macphun apps. The update with a fix for that will be released till the end of the week.
Cheers!

Macphun's Aurora HDR 2016 crashes trying to send a file from Lightroom. I reported that to MacPhun weeks ago on the GM releases. Their attitude was....it will all be OK when you get the official release of Sierra. Really? So I upgraded from the GM to official Sierra build yesterday. Guess what? Yep same damn app crash. I sent the data to Macphun and they told me they were working on something. I am afraid that something in Aurora 2017 which should be out by the end of October. Not impressed with Macphun at all.

Thank you for providing us with all the data! We're trying our best to release the update with a fix to that within a day.

Just installed Sierra on my 2014 11" MBA and performed a preliminary test with iWork '09.

iWork '09 looks good so far!

Startup performance is significantly better than it was under OSX El Cap. On El Cap a black window would appear first and then 1-3 seconds later the application window would display. With Sierra, startup is virtually instantaneous and no black window.

DISCLAIMER: This hasn't been an exhaustive test of all dialogs and features, but what I have tested worked flawlessly. Things in the past that caused an issue (crayon color picker changing to colored pencils) are working fine. If I find something or some reports something I'll modify this post.

Pages and Numbers '09 also working fine for me so far.

Lightroom 4 is also fine so far and the panels mentioned here - http://www.lightroomqueen.com/lightroom-macos-sierra-compatibility/ - are not missing.

I just posted the following in the bugs thread, but I thought that it might be wise to post it here as well for those of you who may miss it in the other thread . . .

<== ATTENTION VIRTUALBOX USERS ==>

Just a quick warning to those of you here who have Sierra installed on unsupported machines. In the unsupported machines thread we have discovered that having VirtualBox installed in Sierra may wreak havoc on your system.

The problem seems to be related to some of the kernel extensions that Oracle installs.

One of the biggest symptoms to date is that VirtualBox will break your iSight camera, so that it does not even appear under the Hardware/Camera section in the System Report. At least three people have now reported this problem, myself included.

If you open FaceTime, Photo Booth or any other app that uses the built-in camera, you will see a message that says that no camera is available, and that you need to connect a camera.

Short of totally uninstalling VirtualBox, there is currently no fix or workaround for this issue.

After a long, arduous troubleshooting process -- please see my post here -- last night I totally removed VirtualBox from my system, being as I really don't need it. My iSight camera was immediately fixed upon doing so.

I've sent the developer several emails about the Bartender 2 incompatibility, but no reply thus far. Oddly, on the home page he lists Bartender 2 as compatible with Sierra, but it definitely is not. I have Bartender 2 and Sierra on three Macs and it doesn't work on any of them.

odd, am using it on both of my macs without issue. try uninstalling/reinstalling bartender... and (of course), make sure you're using the latest version.

to install the helper (to hide spotlight), you have to disable SIP (which i did, then installed the helper, then re-enabled SIP).

I'm not having any trouble at all with Bartender 2 on Sierra. You might try reaching out to the dev.

@fisherking: Nope...still not working for me, and I even uninstalled Bartender 2 using AppCleaner. Not likely I'm doing anything wrong, I've been in the computer biz all my life and this is happening on three machines. The only apparent difference is you're using the latest Sierra beta and I'm not.

Bartender installs fine and I can can rearrange app icons just fine using Command+Drag, but then again I can do that anyway now with Sierra even if Bartender wasn't installed. The problem is when I restart, the icons are back to a haphazard placement.

@Weaselboy: I've sent Ben three emails since Sierra released and haven't heard a reply.

worked for me on the formal release of sierra as well, but...one icon continues to load in the wrong place if/when i reboot. so i move it, and get on with my day. so may be similar to what you're experiencing. how often are you restarting? it's rare for me, so....

Photoshop CC Save Image For Web in Sierra
I'm unable to select an image file when 'Saving For Web' in the 'Save As' finder window in Photoshop CC running on Sierra.

There are times when I need to save a new image using a similar name by selecting the existing file, which matches the name in the 'Save As' dialog field. Using Photoshop CC under Sierra I'm unable to do so because of the inability to select existing files in the Save-as finder window.

I am able to right-click, so my workaround is to right-click on the file in question, select 'Rename' and then copy and paste the filename into the Save As form field.

Also, the Format, Settings & Slices options in the 'Save As' finder window are off-center, situated to the far left.

I find that odd. I have Bartender 2.1.6 installed on an unsupported iMac running the Sierra final release. It appears to be running just fine without incident. Is your only problem that the app icons change order after you reboot? Personally, I don't care in what order my icons load in the menubar, just as long as they do load. In fact, I never try to reorder them. But I fully understand that some folks are more meticulous about that point than others.

Online Bible Still Dead in the Water With macOS Sierra

Just an update regarding the Macintosh OS X version of the Online Bible 4.2.1 app that is distributed by David Pohl and Cross Country Software.

At this current time. Online Bible remains totally incompatible with Sierra, due to an undocumented function in Sierra which is resulting in an internal error, so that Online Bible crashes within seconds of being launched.

I am not a programmer, but the lead Mac version developer, Steve, sent me the following explanation. Perhaps it will make sense to some of you who do happen to be developers:

". . . a library the Online Bible uses, vis., WASTE, calls SetFontInfoForSelection() in Apple’s Carbon.framework, which ultimately tries to call -[NSTypographyPanel noGlyphsStaticString]. I have been unable to find any documentation on noGlyphsStaticString, which implies it is being introduced in Sierra. However, the error we are seeing is "unrecognized selector,” which means it is not yet implemented in Sierra. I find it hard to believe there are not other apps out there calling SetFontInfoForSelection(), so, at least theoretically, they should be having the same problem."

If there are any developers here who know anything about this function/method called "noGlyphsStaticString", or if you are aware of any online documentation concerning it, please let me know, so that I can write to Steve about it.

Steve informed me that until Apple fixes this issue on their end, Online Bible remains dead in the water, insofar as macOS Sierra is concerned.

For me personally, this is very disappointing news, because I have been using Online Bible for many years now, and I miss its easy copy and paste function.

In the meantime, I am using "Eloquence", which is an extension of the "e-Sword" project. I don't like it as much as Online Bible due to its apparent lack of a copy and paste function, but we must make due with what is available.

In fact, I have twice now posted a question regarding this on the Eloquence support page, and in over a month, no one has responded, which doesn't inspire much confidence in the project, in my view.
