What you can do is this:

Go to New Posts, and you can set your filter to only see unread and watched threads. And save that as default.

View attachment 859825
I guess what that does is filter not only unread watched threads but also unread threads from watched forums (even if the threads themselves might not be watched).

On the mobile site the page selection buttons only appear at the bottom and don't give the same options as the full site. Is that by design?

Oh, really? Check it out, hover your cursor over the 'like' button and a pop-up appears and you can select an 'angry' face to 'react' to the post as if you're disliking it. ;)
Lol, not quite the same as dislike though I'm loving the addition of the emojis in the text editor.

Just some quick feedback, i'm not a fan of the way the reactions are displayed:

It's difficult to tell how the composition of the reactions unless you click on it. Would prefer it if it was displayed something like this:

Could you make it user selectable to enable or disable the mostly useless prefix / tags in front of every thread?

It doesn't exactly help readability at a glance. They don't have the same width so the thread titles are all over the place.

Good to be back. :) Could you direct me to a post that describes the changes in the forum, besides the new look, the things that are working differently then before that users might notice? Thanks!

It’s amazing how much less I use my phone when macrumors is down... I need the site to learn stuff about the device that I use to get on the site that I need...to...you get the idea ...?

We went from Xenforo 1.5 to 2.1. So anything tagged XF 2.0 or XF 2.1 is new:

It is expected that the new forum intermittently not respond throughout the day? When it happens I can still pull up the main news page so it's not a web layer issue so possibly app or database lock issue. Just happened again for the third time today for what seems like less than one minute each. Seems a lot more frequent than before the upgrade.

That’s not normal. But we are still making tweaks and optimizing.

Question about the search function. It used to say something like “this forum” or “everywhere”. Now it says search “threads” or “everywhere”. Can I assume that “threads” means threads in this forum only?

Are there forum themes to change the look of the forum, so that individuals can set it based on personal preference? There are themes, but my impression they can’t be selected by users.

My first impression is that the forums with a lot of powder blue coloring, look a bit washed out. It’s not a big deal, but if I had my preference, I would choose, another blue or color with more contrast, such as the field on the left, where the poster icon is located, I’d make that darker as a label to anchor the post.

Update: I just noticed the powder blue in the text field is only when you are editing it, or with an attachment. My preference would still be for more contrast. I remember when I used Firefox and it included themes, which offered the user many coloring and contrast options based on personal taste.

I know it’s new and all but how about actually having true black so OLED users can get some love? I get the bits where you need contrast, no issue with that. But there are sections like the bits circled in my pic that really aren’t useful as just an off black.

Why is it when I hold down the backspace on my iPad it actually gets slower the more you delete? Should be the other way around, surely?

That's a great improvement.

One thing though - I used to be able to view forum posts in a thread ranked by the most likes. I did this often to focus on what might be some of the most relevant posts and sort of filter through without having to read the whole thread..

Can we still do this? It seems missing at the moment - or maybe I need to look more.

Nice feature I just noticed...

My Safari homescreen (favourites & frequently visited websites) shows a badge next to MacRumors link when I have a new notifications on macrumors forum, without even needing to open the website.

And of course it also shows up on the tab name if you have MacRumors open.
