Inkjet all-in-one printer for Mac with double sided scanning and double-sided printing: recommendations?

I looked at several printers with double sided scanning and double-sided printing features. No clear winner. The cost of ink isn't an issue. Overall reliability and print / scan quality is more important. Any recommendations with practical experience? Currently running MacOS Ventura and soon...

    Scanning iCloud

Hello, after abandoning the CSAM scanning I’m wondering if Apple is scanning other data on iCloud for any purpose. Apparently they do scan iCloud mail for suspicious content but what are the consequences? Do they close the account? Do they report users straight to law? Does anyone have further...

Image Capture fails to open connection to Epson scanner

I have an Epson Workforce 630 and am running Big Sur 11.6.2. The device would not print or scan in an account other than my admin account. I had previously posted a question about this in MacRumors but received no answer despite many views. As it worked in my admin account I didn't bother...

Success: $99 multifunction laser printer that scans on Big Sur

So my various multifunction laser printers (MFPs) have worked printing-wise out of the box with macOS Big Sur on my Apple silicon M1 machine, but the built-in scanners have not. I have been looking at solutions like updated Mac specific drivers (that don't exist) or the possibility of using...

    Question on Scanning non-square objects

I'm looking for workflow tips on scanning items that are not simply 4 sided. Is there any scanning application that will allow a Photoshop-like multi-sided or circular masking tool to set the region to be scanned? One object at a time is fine, I just have all that for examples. Though VueScan...

    Film scanners

I have a lot of old medium format film positive transparencies and 35mm slides that I would like to digitise. I started the job years ago on a Canon scanner but Canon stopped supporting it with driver updates with new versions of OSX rendering it electronic waste. I'm probably looking for a...

iPhone 7/8 plus or new X as a 35mm negative film scanner

I know it is an odd question but I thought that there must be some analogue enthusiasts in here! Scanning 35mm negatives with a DSLR is a viable strategy for a high resolution and optimal way to make negatives into positives and digital files. I wonder whether or not an iPhone with dual lens...

Any recommendation for a scanner that can send scans directly to iPad (art scans) ?

Does anyone have a scanner to recommend that could scan drawings (ink, watercolour, coloured pencil) directly to an iPad ? Problem when scanning to PDF with Sierra 10.12.2

It seems impossible to scan any document and getting a PDF doc in a correct weight when using Sierra X10.12.2. I use an Epson XP-760 with an iMac 27". Still now, scanning was really simple and efficient, scanning an A4 document at 200 ppp allowed me to get a PDF doc with a reasonable weight...

Scanner vs. iPhone for capturing old photographs

We have a LOT of old photographs (and negatives) stored in boxes. I'm talking about thousands and thousands of pictures taken with 35mm of my family, and some heirloom photos from extended family that have passed way. Years ago I bought a fairly expensive Epson V750 Pro scanner and tried to...
